J's Robin - Points (60)
Career Totals (38/17-10-5-2)
BK F February 2010 Lonesome Cry Boy Trouble
Owned By Jerry Simons
Runs for the DQ Williams Kennel
Trained by Louis Amaral
What more can you say about J's Robin's run through qualifying then WOW! Not only was she winning races, she was proving untouchable in the process. She posted up victories in the first 3 rounds, and a close 2nd in the semis, and averaged 12 lengths better than the rest in her wins at the finish line. She nearly set a track record too in round three as she posted up a blistering run of 30.06 seconds on a not so fast racetrack. Her most impressive run though came in round two as the big time closer, hit the lid and took command at the break. She was never in question and just left the field in her lurch. With every step she took, she drew further and further away from the competition as she crossed 12 and a half lengths better than the rest at the finish line. No surprise to the masses that this DQ phenom made the finals or that she is the point leader for this event. She was clearly the one to beat going in and made no bones about it throughout the qualifying rounds. She is as fast as she wants to be and sees her third straight trip to the finals in just her 39th career start. She is looking to get over the hump though in this final as she has already finished 3rd in the 2012 Orange Park Derby, and 3rd in the 2012 Jacksonville Sprint Classic. Winning is the only option for her in this effort and that is what she will set her sights on in this race. Post position could play a major role in how she finishes. She loves the rail and can outbreak anyone from the inside posts. If she gets lucky enough to see red at the start of this effort, you might as well give her the blanket and the trophy. Looking to win the second straight title for DQ, Robin will give her all from the lead or from off the pace in this final round race.

Easi Mitchie - Points (48)
OP Career Totals (44/11-11-4-2)
R F F November 2009 Kiowa Mon Manny Uss Race By
Owned By Allyn L. Shaw
Runs for PTL Kennel
Trained by Jim Rae
When the stakes rounds start, Easi Mitchie didn't miss a beat and showed up to run. This hard trying grade A always rises to the occasion and takes it to another level when the bright lights shine their brightest at the bestbet at the Orange Park Kennel Club. This PTL star was a threat throughout in all of the qualifying rounds as she took home wins in round 1 and 2 and just missed by a nose from making it three straight. In the Semi's she finished out of the money in 5th, but it still was a strong game effort that saw her miss the win by a mere 3 lengths. Mitchie, like Robin, is in another stakes final as she competed in the 2012 Jacksonville Sprint Classic and she too also wants to improve on her last showing. Mitchie's best run had to have been in round two as she bolted from the box, took early control, and gave a tenacious effort on the lead to hold on at the wire for the victory. Post could play a role in her outcome as well. She loves to break and run from the outside post positions and a good 7 box to break from, might make all the difference for her in this race. Breaking fast will help her no matter where she draws, so it's all up to her on how she finishes in this effort. Come out running and you might just have a shot at taking home the title.

Secret Papers - Points (48)
Career Totals (30/8-4-6-6)
DK BD F April 2010 Fuzzys Cannon Sammy Sleek
Owned By Lester Raines
Runs for the Lester Raines Kennel
Trained by Mike Gerard
Secret Papers just missed making the finals of the 2012 Jacksonville Sprint Classic, and this time around, she was not leaving it up to chance. Early on in the stakes she was on a mission and posted up back to back wins in rounds 1 and 2 and kept the mojo going strong as she complete the stakes with a pair of game 3rd place efforts. In all of her starts she was around the pace throughout and was a factor from start to finish. Her best trip had to be in round one as she exploded out of the starting box, rushed to early control, and coasted all the way to the wire for the easy win. Round 2 was also impressive as this early speeder had to come from off the pace to outlast the leader late to put up her second victory in the stakes. Papers is gaining confidence in each and every start and is riding high on a 6 race in the trifecta streak that includes 3 big time winning efforts. Breaking is the most important part of her game, but a nice post to break from might just come in handy in this effort. Outside is where she likes to be and anything outside of the 5 box should make her a pretty happy camper in this race. She can take home the title if she gets to the early lead, steals some lengths on the rest of the field, and gets some help behind her late in this effort.

Dontfoolmetwice - Points (48)
Career Totals (19/5-5-4-0)
W R F September 2010 Get Over Midnight Venture
Owned By Alvie Simons
Runs for the DQ Williams Kennel
Trained by Louis Amaral
Not a lot of lines or experience behind her before the stakes, but like most DQ puppies that have been throw into the deep end, she has found a way to come out swimming like a fish. Dontfoolmetwice might have gotten a little help from her parents too as both greyhounds were top class and have produced several good offspring in multiple litters. Never missing the trifecta in any of the rounds, Dontfoolmetwice finds her first finals in her first attempt at a stakes. Finishing 1st, 2nd twice, and 3rd once, Dontfoolmetwice was a model of consistency in each and every start. The best trip for her came in round 3 as she broke close, stalked the early pace, took over in the far turn, and maintained the lead all the way to the finish line for the win. Breaking the mold for DQ, this early speed greyhound can he short late at times so the start of this final round race will be all so important for her. She needs to come out running and drawing something on the edges might just help her out in this aspect of the race. She is best on the rail, but has shown flashes of speed from the outside as well. If she can beat the box and find a way to keep the closers at bay, we might have an upset in the making tonight.

Pat C Hop Along - Points (42)
Career Totals (20/6-3-2-3)
DK BD M July 2010 Oswald Cobblepot Pat C Unit
Owned By Patrick Collins
Runs for the Patrick Collins Kennel
Trained by Scott Jarvis
Pat C Hop Along might not be the first name that comes to mind at the bestbet at the Orange Park Kennel Club, but if he keeps running like it did in the stake rounds, it might soon be. Hop Along parlayed his pair of victories in rounds 1 and 4 with a close third and 6th place effort to land himself here in the finals of the 2012 JGR Puppy Stakes. Saving his best run for last, Pat C Hop Along ran a huge race in the semi-finals as he closed from well of the pace to track down the leaders in the stretch and steal away a win from the clutches of defeat. Climbing up the ladder slowly, Hop Along has shown flashes of just what he can do and most of those came when he got the early lead in the race. The more experience he has gotten, the more consistent he has started to become. With each and every start he has shown that he is no longer an all or nothing greyhound, he is a closer that can get things done from off the pace as well. His mentality has switched and it couldn't have come at a better time. Making his first final round appearance in his first ever try at a stakes, this Pat Collins greyhound will need to focus all of his newly acquired attention on this final round field. Although he likes to run on the rail, anything on the edges might be fine for him to start from in this effort. The more critical part of his effort as he to be his break. He doesn't need to be 3 on top like others in this field, he just needs to be in the conversation at the turn in order to contend. To win and upset this talented field, he must break first, take early control, and get a little help from his friends.

Clever Is Crazy - Points (42)
Career Totals (40/13-7-3-5)
R F April 2010 Rhythmless Brett's Raceyone
Owned By Larry Clever
Runs for the Lashmet Kennel
Trained by Tom Artzer
Crazy? Well I don't know if you can call it crazy, maybe Clever is a better word for her efforts in the qualifying rounds. How about acclimated? Now that is really a good word and really what happened to her in the stakes. Heading into the finals as the hottest greyhound going, Clever Is Crazy improved in each and every start since moving back to 550 from 660, and her 5th, 4th, and pair of wins, were enough for her to finally make a final round appearance in her 3rd try at stakes competition. What really needs to be watched and looked at is her semi-final win. There she not only bested the rest of the field, she outlasted J's Robin in the stretch to get the job done. As the only try 660 greyhound, besides Robin in this field, she might be the only one that could hold her off again if everything goes her way early on in this effort. Post might be more important to her than any other greyhound in this final round race. She absolutely love the rail and the best efforts of her career have been run in red. To prove my point, she has won her last 2 races in a row, 4 in 9 starts, and has finished in the quiniela 7 times. If she can get around close and see the lead at some point, she might be too tough for this field to handle in the stretch.

Gs Comet - Points (42)
Career Totals (43/15-8-8-4)
BK M July 2010 Pat C Clement Gs Katrina
Owned By Gary or Sharon Willis
Runs for the Willis Kennel
Trained by Brandy Willis
Gs Comet is a solid grade A competitor that proved his might once again to everyone at the racetrack in the qualifying rounds of the 2012 JGR Puppy Stakes. No big surprise for him to finish in the money in all 4 efforts, with a win, a second, a third, and a fourth place finish. He has been doing it forever, ok not forever but in his last 14 straight races in grade A. Clearly one of the classiest greyhounds in the field, Comet showed off the late streaking ability in all of the rounds, especially the 3rd. There he broke within striking distance early on and the rest, as they say, was history. He turned on the boosters late and drove by in time to take home his only win in the qualifying rounds. Comet is competing in his 2nd stakes event and this race will be his first attempt in a stakes final. He won't be alone in this effort either as his kennel, the Willis Kennel, is no stranger to this race. Last year the not only won the race, they finished out the quiniela all by themselves with Gs Uncle Harry and Gs Uncle Henry. Like most of this field, he wants to be somewhere on the edges at the break. He would prefer the rail, but can make do from the 7 or 8 boxes too. With his closing ability he doesn't need to hit the lid to contend, but if he wants to win, he almost for sure has to be in the lead early on. As you can see with his lines, he has the experience, the drive, and the kennel to win this race. It all comes down to his desire, and that we will find out about on tonight.

Wwk Time Bomb - Points (40)
Career Totals (43/8-3-9-1)
BK F March 2010 Rhythmless Kiowa Ww Time
Owned By Julia Ward
Runs for Red Oak Racing
Trained by Leon Ooton
Saving her best run for when she needed it most, Wwk Time Bomb exploded out early in the semi-finals to post up a victory and secure herself a spot in this final round field. This Red Oak Racing greyhound is competing in her first stakes event and make the finals as she improved in each and every effort that she took in the stakes rounds. In round one she finished 5th, in round tow she finished 3rd, in round 3 she finished 2nd, and in round 4 she won. The other thing that needs to be mentioned about her is who she ran against. She did not take the easy road to the finals as she was beaten in each of her efforts by someone that sits above her in the standings in this stakes final. No doubt about that he last trip was her best and the break had a large part to do with why she won. This early speeder has to be in the lead if she wants a shot to contend as she doesn't have the late chops to hang with the super closers in the stretch. Her even running style might even prove her a bit short at the end of the race tonight with all of this talent coming home in the hurry. Post position could be her best friend and like the rest, she wants to be on the rail if she can. The best races in her career have some from the 1 and 2 boxes and that might be her only reprieve in this one. Winning might be a stretch, but stranger things have happened in stakes finals before. If she can make the lead, they have to catch her if they want to win.
