Gs Ashlynn - Points (44)
Career Totals (15/6-3-1-3)
F F May 2008 Rapido Rambo Gm's Cutie
Owned By Gary or Sharon Willis
Runs for the Willis Kennel
Trained by Jerry Rhodes
Another puppy, puppy, puppy makes it into the finals of the stakes race with just 15 official races under her belt. But don't let the lack of experience fool you, this greyhound is ultra fast! She is the best closer in the bunch and if she gets loose early on, I don't know if there is any greyhound in this field that can run with her in the deep stretch. Ashlynn make her way to the finals with a pair of wins and a pair of fourth place efforts. One of those wins was by over nine lengths and she stopped the clock at 30.44 seconds, which just happens to be the quickest of any of greyhound in the final field. Like most closers she has finished in the money a lot but really hasn't put together a string of victories in a row. Slow and steady, like her running style, was her mantra up the grading ladder. It took her ten starts to reach grade A and that happened just before the start of the qualifying rounds. Ashlynn is competing in her first stakes events and makes the finals in her very first try. Ashlynn is the only entry in the finals for the Willis Kennel who finished 4th in last year's race with Gs Aleyah. There is no doubt where this greyhound wants to start from. THE RAIL! Ok so she likes to race wide, but she breaks best from the inside posts and she has won five of her six career races starting from the 1 or 2 boxes. If she happens to draw inside, this field better watch out!

Gm's Cashman - Points (52)
Career Totals (14/6-2-2-0)
F M May 2008 Dodgem By Design Gs Gertie
Owned By Gary Willis, II
Runs for the Falcon Kennel
Trained by Amy Willis
Now for the greyhound that showed that he has talent beyond his years and starts at the Orange Park Kennel Club. Gm's Cashman has only raced in fourteen career races and finished up tied for the lead in points. He has really shined during the qualifying rounds, and was one of only three greyhounds to win two or more rounds. He never finished out of the money in any of the four efforts and was never more than 3 lengths off of the winner at the finish line. Cashman has a solid break and can rush with the best of them to the turn in any race that he draws into, but that is not his only attribute. He has some close to him too and if he does decide to drive to the front, he has no problems holding off the chasers all the way to the finish line. Cashman took a mere seven races to make his way to grade A and that was after a couple of missteps in maiden and a fall in grade B. When he put it on he really won four races in a row to reach the top competition at the racetrack. Obviously this race is his first attempt at stakes racing and he might just get spoiled a bit as he is racing in the finals on Saturday evening. This greyhound is the sole entry for the Falcon Kennel in the stakes final and he just happens to be owned by the Kennel Owner Gary Willis, II. Post could play a role in his effort in this race and I suspect that he would like something toward the inside part of the racetrack. Besides the fall, he has only finished out of the money once in his eleven career races inside of the five box.

Uss Fine Touch - Points (52)
Career Totals (40/17-3-5-1)
R F Dec 2007 Uss Raceway Uss Glimmer
Owned By Ron Wiltse
Runs for the Lester Raines Kennel
Trained by Mike Gerard
No real big surprise here as the greyhound with the most experience is the point leader in the finals of this event. Uss Fine Touch dominated in qualifying as the only greyhound to win three rounds, she finished out of the money in her other effort where she ran into trouble getting to the first turn. Touch is a seasoned veteran already at the Orange Park Kennel Club and has won several top grade races. This early speeder is extra dangerous as she can get the lead at anytime and she is not really all the short at the end of the race either. She has the best raw speed of any greyhound in this final round race, and if she does make the front early on, they might be hard pressed to get to her before the finish line. Big things were expected of her early on as she climbed her way to grade A in just five official starts, and took home her first grade A victory in her eighth career race. Touch is competing in her second stakes event, but this will be her first attempt at a final round race. The first for three from the Lester Raines Kennel, Touch has everyone's eyes clearly focused on her tonight. If she breaks like she can post really doesn't factor into the equation, but if she had her druthers I bet she would like to start somewhere on the inside part of the racetrack. The one box has been pretty kind to her in the past with four wins and five quinielas in her six career starts.

Wp's Rainbow - Points (48)
Career Totals (24/6-4-3-0)
BD F Oct 2007 Maryville Rumble* Icu Greta
Owned By Henry T. Howe
Runs for B & J Racing Kennels, Inc.
Trained by Tom Artzer
Family pride is on the line for Wp's Rainbow as her mom, Icu Greta, won this very race back in 2003 with an impressive box to wire win over the competition. Rainbow is a little bit off the family tree as she doesn't have all of mom's early foot, but she did get some, and better yet she can close to win from just off the pace in races too. Throughout qualifying she was a solid factor as she won a race, finished second twice, rounded out with a third place finish in the other. Kennel pride is on the line too as the B & J Racing Kennel has won the last four puppy stakes in a row. Rainbow is the first of two entries for their kennel, and is ready to step up and make a statement. This race is the first stakes event for this greyhound and in turn she is racing in her first final round race. Rainbow took a little bit longer to reach the top grade, nine career starts, and since dropping out she has not make it back to grade A. Speaking to her true abilities, she outlasted and outran greyhounds that were at times two grades ahead of her during the qualifying rounds. She has all the skills to win this race and if she gets loose she is going to make it very interesting. Post is really up in the air for her. She likes it midtrack, but has won from the rail, inside, midtrack and outside part of the racetrack. Here she needs to be away from the crowd so that she can rush the turn. Thinking far inside, or outside at the start.

On The Fly - Points (42)
Career Totals (33/7-6-3-6)
F F Nov 2007 Dodgem By Design Ww Ellen's Time
Owned By Steve Schlachter
Runs for B & J Racing Kennels, Inc.
Trained by Tom Artzer
On The Fly never missed the money in any of her effort to make it to the finals of this stakes event. Like most closers she was a little late on three of the four occasions by finishing second, third, and fourth, but on the third round she got up in the stretch for the win. This greyhound has tremendous late speed and has won top grade races over both 550 and 660 yards. Taking the longest of any greyhound in the finals to make it to grade A, On The Fly ran in twenty-five races before seeing the top grade competition at the racetrack. Fly just might have more pressure than any other greyhound in the field on her shoulders in here first attempt at a stakes final. She is the second entry from B & J and they have won 4 straight puppy stakes, but more importantly she is owned by Steve Schlachter and if anyone could use some great news, it would be Steve. Here's to a speedy recovery and hoping that your greyhound shows up and gives you something to cheer about! Fly can close on almost anyone in this race and post really doesn't mean a ton to a greyhound that will not be in the early hunt tonight. Inside to midtrack would be the best option, but really all she needs is a lane to rush in and she will be living up to her name in the deep stretch.

Never Can Tell - Points (44)
Career Totals (25/7-5-1-2)
BD F Dec 2007 Tnt Star Wars Raw Passion
Owned By Deborah Strickland
Runs for the Lester Raines Kennel
Trained by Mike Gerard
Talk about living up to your name, Never Can Tell is all about the opportunities. This greyhound runs hot and cold at times and when he is HOT, he is HOT! The qualifying rounds would be a good example of this as he finished fifth, second twice, and when he needed to show up and score the most points in the semi-finals, HE DID! Breaking to the lead and hanging tough throughout, Never Can Tell earned his spot in the elite eight and is ready to rock and roll tonight. Never Can Tell is the second of three entries for the Lester Raines Kennel and the first of two from Deborah Strickland. Never Can Tell is competing in her first stakes race competition and make it all the way to the final round field. Never Can Tell took ten races to make it to the top grade at the racetrack and since he has not fallen back to grade B in any of his fifteen grade A starts. Talk about experience, this greyhound has finished in the money in half of those A efforts and knows what it takes to compete against the best. Post is all over the place for her, but if she was going to pick, I bet it would be something on the inside part of the racetrack. Breaking will play a bigger role for her in this effort. She runs her best when she is close to the early lead. Even though she can come from off the pace to win, if she gets too far behind early on, she has trouble rebounding in time to contend. If the hot water heater continues to be lit for this effort, she will factor with the leaders at the wire.

Never Relinquish - Points (42)
Career Totals (39/8-6-5-5)
R F Nov 2007 Dodgem By Design Ww Ellen's Time
Owned By Deborah Strickland Trust
Runs for the Lester Raines Kennel
Trained by Mike Gerard
One of only two greyhounds in the finals not in grade A, Never Relinquish did just enough to secure herself in the finals of the 2009 Jacksonville Juvenile. She closed well in each of her starts and never finished out of the money in any effort. With a first, second, third, and fourth place finish kept coming throughout each race and showed some great determination in each effort. Relinquish might be the third entry for the Lester Raines Kennel in this field, but she is the full sister of On The Fly. Just like her sibling, she too took twenty-five races to make it to grade A and has won races over both 550 and 660 yards. Late speed is her forte too and as long as she can get around the turn, she has a shot to factor throughout once again in this effort. Relinquish varies her running style from the post position that she draws and can get up from almost any starting box. If she was picking I would say something on the edges would be great place for her to start from. Either the far inside, the 1,2,3, or the far outside, the 7 or 8 boxes, is where she would feel most at home. Don't forget about her just because she finished tied for last in points to make the finals, several greyhounds in the past have won stakes events from this very same spot.

Miss Romy - Points (48)
Career Totals (16/5-5-1-1)
W TK BK F May 2008 Fuzzys Cannon Miss Kissable
Owned By Sharon L. Williams
Runs for the DQ Williams Kennel
Trained by Mark Blair
The DQ Williams Kennel is making some noise once again in a stakes final, but this probably not the greyhound that everyone though would be here. Miss Romy is really not as experienced as the other entries, but she ran better than they did and found herself a spot in the finals of this race. With a win, a pair of seconds, and a third place finish, she was never out of the trifecta in any of the qualifying rounds, and like most DQ greyhounds she has that late kick to thank for it. Her only hiccup along the way to grade A was a couple of efforts in grade B. She easily won maiden, D, and C, before taking four more races to win and move to the top grade. Overall just seven races and since she has not even though about moving back down. With just sixteen races under her belt there is no surprise that this is her first attempt at stakes race competition, and she will be competing in her first stakes race final in this effort. Not new to stakes finals and winning puppy stakes are the DQ Williams Kennel. The faces stay the same behind the scenes and trust me when I say that this greyhound will be ready to go on game night. Post could play a huge role in how she does in the final. Romy is all rail all the time and has only drawn the red blanket twice in her brief career. Each of those starts were... Dominate victories! If she can pull the railest of rail posts to start this effort, she will have a very good shot at vying for the win at the wire.
