Back at it for round number 3 of the 2019 bestbet Sprint Classic. The field has been chopped in half and only the best of the best remains. Four full races of greyhounds will lock up on Monday evening July 22nd at bestbet Jacksonville. Great matchups and key plays in these races so don’t miss your opportunities to take home some cash. Let’s take a closer look…
Round 3 of the 2019 bestbet Sprint Classic – Monday July 22nd, 2019
Race 7 – Lk’s Alexis found her break again in round 2 but was edged out in the deep stretch for the win. Tonight no one gets to the turn like her in this effort. Look for a big break and for her survive the stretch this time out for the win. Pushing the pace should be second round winner Mo’s Tom. Tom loves the rail post, gets it again, and could upset if he gets out of the box well. Both are a big short late, could be interesting at the wire. Catching up and trying to challenge will be the better than lines appear closer Pat C Stealth, who just missed last time out, and the closer Blaska Favolite, who has not missed the money in 6 straight efforts at bestbet. (4-2-7-8)
Race 9 – Tough to pick against a greyhound that has 6 wins in a row, so we won’t. Lk’s Good Golly has to be the one to beat in this effort. She has blazing early speed, and once she is in front of the field, they are just not going to catch her before the finish line. Lost matters not as breaking is her calling card. Out and gone early on, the race will be for place. Prompting the pace should be the rail duo of Mo’s Tweety and Ww Cha Cha Cha. Tweety won in round 1 and has not missed the quiniela in 5 straight trips, posted well he will be a threat throughout. Cha Cha Cha got into trouble in round 1 but could rebound here with a stellar post position. If she gets room, she has the late chops to run by both before the wire. Big closer, and first round winner, Braska Hazel cannot be forgotten about either. With the same 8 box she had in round 1, she will factor in the stretch again tonight. (7-2-1-8)
Race 10 – I don’t know what to say except, look at the last race for Dutch Calvin. This greyhound is as fast as he wants to be, and when he clears close, he is almost untouchable. He is off a rest, back in form, and nearly broke the track record last time out. He gets another great post away from the crowd, and I expect him to dominate once again. St Pete Dreamin is no slouch though. This tough pup has won 4 of 6 races and posted up a personal best last time out as well with his win in round 2. He likes it midtrack, so the post might not bother him. He will need a big race to contend with the winner. Arkans Shilling gets a look, not to win, but to be in the money. Consistent competitor with 6 straight in the cash showing in the book. A good 1 box, and more of the same from her. Don’t sleep on Gs Kirkland either. Hot off a win, posted well outside, and should chase the leader throughout. If he gets to the task early, he too has a chance at the upset. (8-4-1-7)
Race 11 – Bounce back time for Pat C News. He missed his break last time out and while rushed he was knocked down just before the turn. Don’t expect him to sit twice in a row. Remember he was the Puppy stakes champ and brother to All-American Pat C Rare Deal. No speed next to him here, expect a better break and for him to do what he does, win this race. (I.e. 22 of those in his last 36 races) Push the pace and making him work a little should be Lk’s Countess. This round 1 winner is streaky at times, but when she is on, she is really tough. She has won 3 of her last 4 races and gets an ideal post position here with the 1 box. She is the only other early speeder, and if she gets her nose in front early on, she might be tough to beat in this effort. Miami Dolphin threw her hat into the ring with a big time win in her last effort. She has good late speed and could be a thorn in the leader’s side late from this advantageous post position. Tr’s Banshee also gets a look, like several others, maybe not for the win, but someone to play under on your ticket. This greyhound has not missed the money in 6 straight races, she likes the post position, and has enough late speed to find a way into the superfecta. Don’t leave her out. (5-1-8-2)
