Monday evening July 15th, 2019
Round 1 of the 2019 bestbet Sprint Classic
Race 2 – Let’s go with the heat in this race as it appears that the 3 solid grade A’s have a class edge over the rest of this field. Dutch Lantana gets the nod up top with 6 races in a row in the money, including a pair of wins, one from a similar post. Jack’s Atwitzend will challenge with 3 grade A wins in 6 races, and Dc Midnite Rider should be a good under stalking play in this effort. Watch out for another consistent threat Ww Crown Kepner, who has not missed the money in 6 straight and won big time last time in the 8 box. (1-4-5-8)
Race 4 – Red hot St Pete Dreamin has to be the one to beat in this race. Winning 5 of his last 6 races in a row he is going to be a tough out once again in this effort. Ww Just a Ticket will also be making a case to win here. With a solid break, 3 of 6 wins, including back to back jacks, all from midtrack post, watch out. The Dutch duo of Mustang and Betty Jean both have shots to take the top spot as well, each and consistent and should factor in the money somewhere in this effort. (5-4-6-3)
Race 5 – Loads of early speed in this effort. This one is going to be crowded early and often. Itsarasseldassel has climbed her way back into grade A and is running red hot as we speak. With an outside post, he will get room. He should find a way to win. He will be challenged though be the tough breaking solid grade A Lk’s Livin Lucky. Short late, she just misses here. Ww Wasabi is a constant chaser that likes the post and should contend, and the always closing Reble Smither should be a play at the bottom part of your tickets. (7-2-5-3)
Race 7 – Tough match up here as the reigning sprint champ stakes winner Pat C News, gets a tough draw with 5-race in a row winner Lk’s Alexis. Both have blazing early speed and run their best on the front end on the early lead. This is will be a battle royal and I give the slight edge to NEWS strictly because of the experience factor. They might not be along either if Ww Cha Cha Cha gets out of the box well in this effort.; This rising star has 4 wins in 6 trips and has only missed the one once during that span. She too could hang early and challenge throughout. Braska Pacman is a solid grade A with 5-straight in the trifecta. Winning might be a stretch against all this early speed, but finishing in the money, that might be a given on this occasion. (3-7-6-2)
Race 9 – Another Pat C, Lk’s Battle in this race. Lk’s Countess and Pat C Live Wire both have the skills to get the job done in this effort, it just comes down to who wants it more. Countess has won 4 of 6, get a good post, and has the edge. Live Wire is coming off a rough trip but done let that fool you. She is just as fast in the open and could fire from the outside posts. Solid A Mo’s Tom is looking to rebound after a tough last effort and done sleep up int puppy. Ww Pink Floyd is tough in the open and finally gets back on the rail where he wants to be in this effort. (2-6-3-1)
Race 10 – Wide open race here so let’s go with a flyer. Recent success, but not most recent, was Miami Dolphin. Kind of like the undefeated team, had won 3 straight in great fashion, but then Tannahill showed up and just 2nd and a pair of 4ths recently. Against a mixed field, Zonka shows up. Hot off a win and no speed around, Dj’s Summer should get room to run early on and should factor throughout this effort. Ww Wild Guard is a solid grade A that has not missed the trifecta in 6 straight. With a pair of wins showing from inside post, he too must be in the could win category. Pat C Todd might be the biggest name here, but he needs to get back in form in order to step up and win this race. He is a solid A but starts a long way from the inside here. If he breaks, he could upset. (5-1-3-6)
Race 11 – Another Lk’s greyhound on a tear! Lk’s Good Golly has won half of her races this year, and that includes her last 4 races in a row. Clearly tough on top, this break should be unchallenged from the get-go and the streak continues. Gaining late to challenge should be the solid grade A Pat C Stealth, who is better than his recent lines show. Loads of raw speed and could upset if he gets loose early on. Cbj Coleman also has late foot. He loves the rail, gets the one box, and will make his presence know in the stretch. Arkans Shilling gets the other look. Yet another closer that has not missed the money in 5 straight in grade A. Posted well, Look for her to threaten in the stretch too. (2-6-1-7)
Race 12 – Don’t care about the layoff, Dutch Calvin was the real deal and still is. Rested and ready to go for this stake he is going to be a major force in each and every round. He can shift gears with the best of them late and will be too close too early for them to hold him off at the wire. Surprising Mo’s Tweety might just be the one to beat in this effort. She has been on fire for the Crowe kennel as she has won twice and hasn’t missed the money in her last 6 starts in a row in grade A. She has enough early to see the lead, the question is can she hold on? Gs Kirkland will be a late driving force to challenge the leaders and don’t overlook Bgr Make It Rain who has scored wins in her last two races in a row from this starting box. (5-7-1-8)
Round two will take place on Friday evening July 19th as all 8 races full of stakes runners make their return. Make you plans and don’t be left out here at bestbet Jacksonville. I’ll see you at the races!
