Round 2 of the 2019 bestbet Sprint Classic
Race 2 – (Seven Greyhound Race) The five box is empty, but it is the rail that will need to be watched in this effort. With 3 wins in a row and 4 in 6 starts, Lk’s Countess is the one to beat again in this effort. She has blazing early speed and will be unabated to the front once again tonight. Out and gone early on to win. Arkans Shilling is a solid grade A in the solid post that should come on late to challenge as well. In fact, 6 straight in the money equals a threat tonight. St Pete Dreamin had a rough trip in round one, but don’t forget those 4 wins in A in her last 6 races. Rushing early, he too could have a shot at the W. Pat C Live Wire draws a good post but will have to break better if he wants a chance to cash in late here. (3-1-7-2)
Race 4 – (Seven Greyhound Race) Post is the key to success in this race as upstart Ww Pink Floyd loves the rail and gets it yet again in this effort. This pup can motor, especially in red. Don’t expect him to be the favorite here, so you might get a price too. Miami Dolphin is another well posted greyhound with a strong chasing style that can see him post W’s when he gets out close early on. With a good break, he too could threaten for the win. Tr’s Banshee might want to be more outside, but with 6 straight in the money, you get a consistent threat that just keeps on coming. A good underplay on your tickets. Dutch Betty Jean is the best of the rest. Rail early for sure, but with 2 empty posts next to her, she will get room to run. Five of six in the trifecta, she knows how to get into the money at the wire. (1-8-2-6)
Race 5 – (Seven Greyhound Race) Time for the veteran Js Ranger Rover to wake up and break in this effort. No speed around him that can go with him to the turn, the only question is can he hold on late for the victory. First round winner Itsarasseldassel is moving up in grade but shows no signs of slowing down. With 4 wins in 6 efforts, and 6 straight quinielas, she is the one to beat, that is if she can outlast Rover in the stretch for the repeat. Braska Pacman is a steady closing solid grade A who has not missed the money in 6 straight races. Expect more of the same, and never close your eyes on Reble Smither. Not the best post, or maybe even distance, for him, but you know he will gain round late and steal away a spot in the superfecta at the wire. (4-3-6-8)
Race 7 – First round winner Jack’s Atwitzen appears to be the one to beat in this race. With another solid break and rush from the outside post, she should get to the front and find a way to hold off the challengers for back to back wins. She will be tested though as the other two solid A’s from the inside will be pressuring. Ww Wasabi was just off a win in round 1 and looks to apply pressure once again in this effort. Mo’s Tom ran a similar race and the rail runner gets the one box in this effort tonight. If either can clear close, they could run down the leader and take home the top spot for themselves at the finish line. Don’t sleep on Ww Just a Ticket either. Still a puppy, but posted well inside, this greyhound has shown flashes in the past, look at his impressive back to back wins showing, and could wake up and take them all down if the mood suits him in this effort. (7-3-1-2)
Race 9 – Forget the last race for Lk’s Alexis. She just missed clearing the first turn, before getting cutoff and bumped out on contention. Better inside post and she should get the lead here, not the same rushers that she had last time to contend with. Look for here to return to form and find the finish line first as a new streak starts. Prompting the pace should be the likes of the well posted threat Ww Crown Kepnet. Kepner is a solid game chaser that is a bit short late and that will hinder her chances again here. Look for her to be a threat throughout and come up just short at the wire. Also, in contention should be the talented closing up Bgr Make It Rain. Shifting gears in the stretch, he should stalk the pace early and make it interesting at the finish line. And running her best as of late, Dj’s Summer looks to expand on her 4 straight in the money finishes from an advantageous post position in this effort. (3-2-6-7)
Race 10 – No doubt the toughest race on the card. Three first round winners, and not much else, so it might just come down to who you think has the stuff to get the job done. Pat C News won the puppy stakes and has victories in 5 of his last 6 effort, but Lk’s Good Golly has 5 wins in a row, and Mo’s Tweety has 2 in a row, and 3 in her last 6 efforts. All of these greyhounds have not missed the money in 6 straight, and all have early speed and should be locked up for the duration of this effort. I’ll take the experience of News first, with Golly and Tweety battling it out for place at the wire. Best of the rest of this field will be Ww Wild Guard. Rough trip in round 1, but a stalking closer is a good play under you wagers when you have several early speeders up front. (6-2-7-5)
Race 11 – With a race back under his belt, I expect Dutch Calvin to wake up and shine bright. He hasn’t broke yet and in this field on nonearly speeders, I expect him to be too close too soon not to win, and maybe even dominate this performance. Sure, other will try as they may to make a case, but you can’t ignore his 12 wins in 16 starts this year. Blaska Favolite is a well posted good closer that just missed out in round 1 of the stakes. She has gears to burn late as well but will need to be close early and get room if she wants to continue her red-hot running. In 6 races, no efforts outside of the money, expect more of the same tonight. Fakeit To Makeit is a similar runner that might not light up the win bracket but is a solid threat in any race that she is entered into. She likes the rail and could be a big-time chasing threat in this one. Pat C Zitty is so much better than her recent efforts and could be upset minded if she could get out of the box well in this race. She is not short at all at the end of the race and could take it to another level if she could get out early on. With a solid start, she might be the bud longshot pick of the evening. (6-2-3-5)
Race 12 – Ww Cha Cha might seem like a name you would hear of use for the winner, but this race is wide-open, and she has several things going for her in this effort. She loves the outside and gets the 8 box, check, she has a good early rush and should be unchallenged for the lead early on, check, she has been running hot as of late with 3 wins in 5 races, and 5 races in a row in the money, check, and she was next best to pre-race favorite Pat C News in her first round race. Look for her to hit the lid and control this race throughout. Pushing the leader late should be the first-round winner Braska Hazel. A strong closing threat, she will be coming from off the pace late to challenge, but it may just be a little too late in this effort from a tough inside post. Stakes Veteran Gs Kirkland looks to rebound with a better stalking closing race and being right next to the early speeder should do him well in this effort. Winning might be a stretch but factoring in the money should be easy. Pat C Stealth gets a notice too as he tries to sneak his way to some more point in this effort. He is a solid chaser that can fire on occasion, look 6 races back, and from a solid post, he could surprise too if all goes his way early on. (8-3-7-2)
The field will be trimmed down to 4 races for the 3rd round of the bestbet Sprint Classic that will take place on Monday July 22nd at bestbet Jacksonville.
