The train keeps rolling along and so does Pat C Zoe in the 2019 edition of the bestbet Puppy Stakes. Winning all three rounds so far, she is in the driver’s seat for the finals along with her kennelmates Pat C News and Pat C Live Wire who have not missed the quiniela in the rounds. Still there are seats left at the final table, and with a win, you could steal one away in the semi-finals. Let’s take a look at the remaining three races and see if we can get you cashing some tickets this weekend at bestbet Jacksonville.
Saturday evening May 25th, 2019 – Semi-Finals 2019 bestbet Puppy Stakes
Race 7 – It might not be his distance, but V Twin has been tearing it up so far over the shorter course in the Puppy Stakes. He should get a clean run from this post and gets an edge as the only early speed greyhound is next door to him. Look for him to follow the pace and run down the leaders late for then win. Speaking of leaders, Atx Breakandbad should be the frontrunner in this effort. He has been short late in the past, so I expect more of the same here. Keep eyes out for Pat C Bbq in the stretch as well. This greyhound can flat out fly home to challenge in the final strides. Pat C Todd also can’t be forgotten about. Tough post, tough trips as of late, but if he can find room, he could smoke this bunch. That 30.39 best time is for real. (1-7-2-5)
Race 9 – Tough even race here with loads of talent on tap. Half the field has won a round in the stakes, and all 8 have been in the money in 2 of their 3 starts. This one will be a battle from the start, and I like Pat C Live Wire as the winner. A good rusher, she has been a threat throughout in all of her races and has yet to finish out the quiniela in any of those starts. She can be short late, so she will need a lead here if she wants to hold on for the win. Challenging her will be a strong contingent led by Braska Hazel. A solid chasing, slight closing threat, from a good post, she too has a shot at stealing away a win and a chance at the finals. Arkaskamoonshine is another late to the party runner that has not missed the trifecta in any of his races in the stakes. Tough post, but if he gets room, he too could make it interesting at the wire. Gs Travis might fly under the radar but has better lines than most would think. In his last 6 starts, 5 money appearances, and in each he has comes from well off the pace to challenge. He liked it midtrack and could surprise late in this one from another midtrack staring box. (3-1-8-6)
Race 11 – Now for the battle of the heavyweights! Pat C Zoe vs her kennelmate Pat C News. This duo has been tearing up the racetrack and dominating on the front end in each of their efforts. It will be interesting to see just who is going to get the early lead in this race, and that could determine the outcome from the start. I like the veteran ZOE in this one as she just knows how to get things done, and frankly I think she is not quite as short as News is in the stretch. Nose to nose for the duration of this effort, it could be a preview of just what we will see in the finals. The best of the rest crown goes to the late closing threat Dutch Betty Jean. Ideally posted, she won 6 races back from here, she will gain ground late and could challenge. Don’t be surprised if she does more than expected. Braska Harper is the other greyhound to consider. Hot of a huge win, she was a big-time force on the front end and ran in the neighborhood of the time with the big two last time out. She gets another outside post and could throw her hat into the mix if she can hit the lid tonight. (3-4-8-6)
