The field has been cut in half and only the best of the best has moved on in the 2019 edition of the $45,000 James J Patton Silver Cup. So now we have four super competitive races to watch, wager and win on Monday evening February 25th at bestbet Jacksonville. To say that winners and contenders flow through the round would be an understatement. These are going to be highly contested events were anyone had a shot to step up and show just what they can do. Let’s take a closer look at see if we can start off the new week right with some winners.
Monday evening February 25th, 2019 – Round 3 of 2019 JJP Silver Cup
Race 5 – Latest impression get noticed and that is just what makes Dutch Audrey the one to beat in this effort. She has won 3 of her last 6 starts, but last win in the round was super impressive. Wining by 9.5 lengths in a blistering 30.19 can’t be ignored. Oh, and she can win from off the pace as well. Watch out for a repeat. Pat C Sly Murry is undefeated in the round with back to back wins showing in his 6 straight efforts in the trifecta. His only hindrance here might be the post, but if he breaks, it won’t matter. If this pair locks up early, we are in for a treat. Not to be outdone, the most likely early leader in this race will have something to say as well. Pat C Zoe is an early speed machine that gets a great rail starting post in this race. She is short late though and that will hurt her chances here as the chasers will be too much for her in the final few steps. Lk’s Hopscotch is looking to rebound after a tough trip in her second-round race. She is a steady threat that can close a bit late. Look for her to find a spot in the money once again at the wire. (4-5-2-7)
Race 7 – This race is packed with pups that can flat out fly, but you have to pick someone, so I go with All About Doeboy. This pup is running for the red-hot Pat Collins kennel and gets another great outside starting box in this effort. He With no big speed around him, he will clear close and find a way to win back to back races. That is if, Jedi Fawney doesn’t get loose early on from the outside as well. This flat-out raw speed monster can put the pedal to the metal at anytime and take home some stellar victories. She was a round one winner that gets back outside where she wants to be. Looking to rebound, she too could be the one to beat. Both might have to catch Pat C Zeus to get the job done. A winner of back to back races in the rounds, yep undefeated, he gets the one box here were he could hit the lid and put up another gem on the front end. All better be wary of the 2019 Orange Park Derby winner James Clubber as well. This greyhound has all the talent and ability to win this stake too, he just needs to be around early to use all that late speed to dominate at the wire. Just like he did in round number 1. Posted in the 2 box for the third straight race, he must show up if he wants to keep on flowing in this stakes event. (6-8-1-2)
Race 9 – Even though there are nor second round winners, or mostly no first-round winners, in this race, it is still highly competitive. Pat C Zitty gets another great post and is looking to break that 2nd and 2nd string finishes in this effort. She has enough to get close early and enough late to take outlast a leader at take home the win. That is exactly what is going to happen in this effort. Setting the pace as always should be the ankle burner Js Ranger Rover from the outside. This pup has flat out fly from the starting box but is way short at the end of the race. He has been in the lead in 3 straight and has been picked up in the stretch on all three occasions. Just missing twice in back to back races, expect more of the same in this one. Late both greyhounds up front better be wary of what is coming behind them. Rs Noahs Eyes is a strong closer that just missed by a nose last time out, and he has not missed the money in his last 6 races in a row. If he gets in the conversation early, he could be an upset winner at the finish line. Arkaskamoonshine is a solid grade A competitor that has been in the money in back to back races in the rounds and 5 of her last 6 trips around the oval. He too has a bit of closing speed late and should make the most of the post in this effort. (2-8-4-3)
Race 11 – New to grade A, but not new to winning, Tmc’s Magic Mike gets to dance his way to another win on Monday evening. After a great trip last time out, he is poised to continue making noise in this effort. He has a great post position here, that same 7 box he had last time out, and he will prove best in the stretch to take home back to back wins. He will not be alone in this effort as he has several competitors that will be challenging him for the lead and the win every step of the way. Cayenne Allen might not have won all that many races, but he has great experience and has threatened in both of the round of the stakes. His last win came from this very same 4 box, and if he gets loose early on, he too will have a shot at the W. Pat C Stealth was a first round winner that can shift gears late and take home the wins in the stretch. Never out of the money in 6 straight races, you know he will be around the lead again tonight as I expect him to factor from start to finish in this effort. Ww Mind At Rest also gets a look here after a big box to wire effort last time out. Here she gets the 1 box and if she hits the lid again, she could wire this field on the lead again as a surprise winner. She loves the rail and will be around throughout in this effort. (7-5-4-1)
The field will be trimmed down even further for the semi-finals on Saturday March 2nd at bestbet Jacksonville. On the top 3 races, 24 greyhounds, will be left for a chance to make the finals which will run on Saturday evening March 9th at bestbet Jacksonville.
