Round 2 of the 2019 $45,000 James J Patton Silver Cup is upon us and if round two keeps pace with round 1, we are in for another big time treat. Loads of talented greyhounds putting up exciting efforts on the lead, and from off the pace, for the win. Great match-ups await again here in round number 2, so let’s get to the actual races for Friday evening February 22nd and see if we can get you cashing some tickets this weekend at bestbet Jacksonville.
Friday evening February 22nd, 2019 – Round 2 of 2019 JJP Silver Cup
Race 4 – (Seven Greyhound Race) With a scratch in round number 1, we get a seven-greyhound race here in round number 2. This plays right into the hands of dog number 6, Pat C Zeus. A winner in round 1, Zeus is a monster on the lead, can beat the box again here, and gets all the room he needs early to get the job done. Not only is there an empty space between the 4 and 5 boxes, the 5 box is empty in this effort. That leads to a huge lane to rush in. look for another box to wire gem. Pushing the pace should be the Solid A Arkans Tt Cali from the rail, as well as the steady chasing threat Wanna B A Champ. All EYES on the lookout for Rs Noahs Eyes late as she has gears to run in the stretch and has not missed the money in 6 straight races. (6-1-7-3)
Race 5 – Another race, another Pat C greyhound who won in round 1, getting back to back jacks. Pat C Sly Murry might love the rail, but he is no too shabby from the outside either. His combination of break and close makes him a dual threat. Tonight, he puts it on there again. Trying to upend the apple cart will be the other first round winner Gs Octavia. This converted router, came home in a hurry and will keep up the good work in this effort. Late it could get interesting. Early Kw Bacardi might even be in the lead, but late she is not match for the big dogs in the stretch, and Ww Raw Assets gets a notice too. Winning might be a stretch, but this even runner could be in the money throughout tonight. (7-6-2-4)
Race 7 – Speed should be the key to success once again for Ice Rylee. This greyhound is really on top of her game right now and has won 3 of her last 4 races, including round 1 of the stakes. She is short late but steals enough early on to repeat. Pressing the pace should be the likes of the cagey veteran, and 5 straight in the trifecta finisher, Lk’s Hopscotch, along with the ideally posted stalking monster Pat C Zitty. Don’t sleep on veteran stakes performer Reble Smither either. If he gets loose and wants to run, he too could be upset minded in this effort. (3-4-2-7)
Race 9 – Tough, tough race here, but the cream still rises to the top. Jedi Fawney is still the greyhound to beat in this effort. Loads of experience and talent make her a tough out, well that an her back to back wins and determined racing style. Posted well inside, she will get it done with or without the early lead in this race. Making her work will be Lee Enid. She has won 4 of her last 6 trips, and 3 of those have comes from a similar outside post to the one she has in this effort. If she gets to the top, she too could take home a win. A monster breaker and rusher, Pat C Zoe could easily be in the early lead in this effort, but that is never the problem for her. Being short in the stretch is the issue. Can she hold on and take home a win? Only if she gets help behind in this effort. Arkans Bb Tres is the best of the rest here. Defeating the big names will be tough, but running under on the card could be easy, that is if she can get out of the box well tonight. (3-7-5-4)
Race 10 – Despite the post, Pat C Stealth still appears to be the greyhound to beat in this effort. This first round winner is a strong closer that gives his all late in every race. Here with no big early speeder to take the lure away, he will run down everyone late and post up yet another win for the Pat Collins kennel. Early Tmc’s Sassy Chic and Cayenne Allen both have enough speed to get to the lead and each could take home the win if they can steal enough on the engine early on. Both have class, both are posted well, and both should threaten throughout in this effort. Don’t sleep on Ww Momo either. This greyhound might not be blazing the trail, but he always seems to be around the money position at the finish line, 6 straight showing, and he likes the post and can gain late to challenge. (5-3-8-7)
Race 11 – The best raw speed at the racetrack looks for yet another win, and possible stakes final, here in the 2019 James J Patton Silver Cup. James Clubber dominated the finals of the 2019 Orange Park Derby and has not slowed down a step over the shorter course in this race. He exploded home and took the win in round 1 in a blistering 30.37 romp, and tonight he gets the exact same post position. Expect more of the same. The only real challenge may come from the outside and Dutch Audrey. Audrey loves this spot, can break and close, and is running red hot right now. Others to consider here include the solid grade A early speeder Gr’s Blaze, good enough to see the lead don’t know if he can keep it, and the flashy if a want to be runner Big Ben. Never know what you are going to get, but on occasion he is special if he is close early on. (2-8-3-6)
Race 12 – All things going for All About Doeboy in this effort. I know he is a ways from the inside, but he likes it outside too. No consistent big early speeder to deal with, not big-time names and talent to worry about, and an path to a clean trip, should be enough for him to have a big payday at the wire tonight. This talented pup has won half of his 12 career races. The inside of the racetrack always has some tough puppies to deal with. Easi Gus Perry put on a show in round 1 with a huge win. This closer got loose early and pasted the field. This time inside he could get it done again. Tmc’s Tyme Flys is also a tough out. Winning 2 of his last 4 trips and just missing in round 1, he is ready to take on the best again from much better post position in this effort. Workinthecorner is an early speed threat that might be a factor to the stretch but won’t be able to hang with the big boys late. A game effort yes, winning, probably not, but another in the money finish should be had from the rail loving runner in the 1 box. (8-2-3-1)
Race 15 – Guess I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but Pat C Dragnet gets the nod from me here in this race. I know this one will be a highly contested race up front. We have several greyhounds here that can break, rush, and threaten the lead, but Dragnet has a little more lasting power in the stretch and should be able to outpace the rest to the finish line for the win. Post position for him makes a difference in this effort. Early the lead should belong to Js Range Rover. This stellar veteran is a solid breaking machine that sees the lead in the majority of his efforts. His only problem is getting to the wire for the win. It happens on occasion, but most of the time he gets caught. Another game effort and runner-up repeat of round one tonight. Tmc’s Magic Mike Is not in the right place but has enough late speed to overcome the rough starting box. He did it last time out and could do it again here. Not enough early to challenge the front end, but late he will dance into the money at the wire. Maty Kaan gets a chance to redeem himself after a tough finish in round number 1. If he can find his break, he could surprise everyone in this effort. (8-2-7-4)
The third round of the 2019 $45,000 James J Patton Silver Cup will run on Monday February 25th at bestbet Jacksonville. The field will cut in half and only the best of the best will move on to the quarter-finals.
