The fun keeps on coming in the 2018 edition of the Redo stakes. This time around we have expanding the stakes to races over 550 and 660 yards. Both races will have a qualifying round, two races each on Monday April 23rd, and the top four competitors from each race will move on to the finals on Saturday April 25th, and then we will run the same race from the same post positions back on Saturday evening May 5th at bestbet Jacksonville.
Ever wanted the chance to bet again on a race as you know for sure you would hit big the second time around? We’ll bestbet has you covered with this fun stakes event.
Let’s check out round number one and see if we can start off your week right with some winners.
Monday evening April 23rd- Round 1 of the Redo Stakes
Race 7 – The first of two sprint stakes on the card and this one will be all about speed and determination. Raw speed equates to winning when the greyhound is in the open, and the 8 box will be just what the doctored ordered for Jedi Fawney. Can’t miss that 30.17 run a few races back, look for her to chase the pace and overpower the rest late for the win. Beating the box will be Craigiepridenjoy. Ideal post for him here in the red blanket, so look for a strong break, a strong lead, and for him to be run down in the stretch. Also, in contention should be the as fast as I want to be solid grade A runner L’s Sum Dog, along with the always favorite, Always in the trifecta factor Dc Midnite Rider. (8-1-4-5)
Race 10 – Tough outs here as we have the recent stakes winner, Ww Whatsapp, along with the well posted winner of 7 of her last 8 starts, Lk’s Black Gold. This dynamic duo is going to put on a show in this effort. No doubt about Black Gold going to the lead early on in this effort. She has everything going for her. She loves the rail, and gets the one box, she has no speed around her, and will be unabated to the early lead, and she is hotter than anyone at the racetrack. She will be pressured late but will find a way to hold on and win. Putting her under it will be Ww Whatsapp. This greyhound is always tough when closer and he will be just that from a good inside starting box. He will stalk the pace throughout and make a late charge and threaten at the wire. Don’t overlook the outside part of the racetrack either. Upstart Kw Trix has been on fire as of late with 4 wins in 6 races in grade A, and Reble Smither has not missed the paysheet in 6 straight attempts. (1-3-7-8)
Race 12 – We move to 660 for the second set of the redo races and here we get only a few top graders that have run this far before. So, let’s take the chalk and cash the tickets! Ww Outlaw Kate is the one to beat for sure in this effort. She dominates 660 top grade events at the racetrack and should be out and gone early on again in this race. She can get it done from the lead or from off the pace, so whatever it takes she will be up to the task tonight. Applying early pressure should be the other top-grade threat, and back to back winner, Reble Fred. Fred is tough when close early on and should be able to get there from the good outside post. Watch for this duo to battle up front and for Kate to want it more in the stretch. Others to consider in this effort include the rising 660-star Quick Shot, who has scored wins in 2 of her last 4 starts and has not been out of the money in 5 straight races, and Toodles, who is better than her lines show and runs best near the early leaders. She too will need a good start if she hopes to contend. (4-8-6-5)
Race 15 – The other 660 stakes event on the card and here we get a more veteran field to showcase. Dutch Casey has been in several stakes finals and knows how to get the job done over any distance. This greyhound is all about closing and will be coming on strong late once again to steal away a win from the clutches of defeat once again. HE is posted well and will make the most of this effort. Craigie Javier was the only unbeaten greyhound heading into the finals of the Orange Park Derby, and even though he did not win that event, he did finish in 3rd at the wire. He loves the rail, get the 2 box, and should be a threat throughout once again in this effort. Critics Choice is a veteran journey woman over the added distance course and she gives her all in every effort. She is coming off a win and has been in the money in 4 of her last 6 efforts. She has a victory showing from this box, and if she can hit the lid, she too could be upset minded in this effort. Another option for you here is L’s Princess Ry. New to the distance she has been a threat in all 3 of her 660 races and has make up ground late in all those efforts. If the pup puts it all together in this start, she could be a longshot winner at the wire. (3-2-8-6)
The top 4 from each race move on to the finals on Saturday evening April 28th at bestbet Jacksonville, and then the same greyhounds will run from the same posts again on Saturday evening May 5th. Don’t miss out on either final! So, get your friends, make you plans, and I’ll see you at the races!
