Feature Races for the Weekend

Featured News, Racing News

Another great weekend of race ahead here at bestbet Jacksonville. Loads of talent in our feature races as we look and touch all the distances at the racetrack. That’s right, top grade events over 550 and 660 yards, and a TB marathon race for you to watch wager and win on. Let’s take a closer look at the races and see if we can get you cashing some tickets this weekend at bestbet.

Friday evening March 16th, 2018

Race 7 – Hot off the stakes final, Lk’s Black Gold looks to rebound against a slightly easier race. She has tremendous early speed and should be able to press the pace early and hold on late to win. Dc Midnite Rider is on his game after the rest and will be closing late for a chance at back to back wins. Don’t sleep on the late flying Catcha Later, from the red hot Global Kennel, or the I’m tough if I’m close threat Mac’s Kelly. (6-2-4-8)

Race 10 – Untouched so far, the phenom pup from Ocala looks to run the table tonight. Getting stronger in every start, Jedi Fawney breaks close and draws away throughout the race. From another strong outside post, I expect more of the same and another win. Pushing the pup will be the recent winner, and all around in the quiniela runner, Cp’s Bee Bruce. We all know Pat C Gangster will be rocketing up late from off the pace to challenge, and let’s not forget Luck Of The Pup either. Hot off a win, she will contend if close early on. (6-1-5-3)

Race 15 – Back at the right distance, Ww Outlaw Kate will be looking to start off a new win streak in this effort. A recent winner of 4 straight over 660, she has the early foot to get the lead and the desire to hold on all the way to the wire. From a good post, she is back on track. Pushing the pace should be the back to back winner Pat C Hell Bent along with the early threat Saylor Lee from the outside post positions. Reble Fred must get a look as he is a tough out when he breaks, and post well tonight, he too has a shot at the upset. (3-6-7-2)

Saturday matinee March 17th, 2018

Race 7 – The closers are posted well in this effort and should have an easy time late in running down all the early speed. Craigietrumpcard has taken well to the racetrack and won nearly half of his starts at bestbet. He has 3 in his last 6 races and each have come from off the pace. Look for a late surge to steal away a win today. Also threatening late will be the tremendous closer Tiger Power. He won’t run until the stretch, but when he does move, leaders be wary. The early threats should be Lk’s Patty Cake and She Aint In It, but both are short late and will need help early to pull off the upset. (6-7-5-3)

Race 11 – Tough to pick against a greyhound on a roll, so I won’t. Bgr Fast Flight has won 3 races in a row and all of those have come from off the pace. She will have to give a similar effort here if she wants the streak to continue. Box beaters Minnies Roadster and Sumalee will for sure be the one to catch, but both are short and can be run down from behind if the chasers are close enough. Solid grade A Kiowa Key Rios must be considered here too. As his closing prowess could get him home a winner as well. (5-7-8-2)

Saturday evening March 17th, 2018

Race 7 – Look for a heated battle up front as Cp’s Nauset Flo should be striking to the lead but will be pushed throughout by Nacho’s Newfie. Both greyhounds could get it done, but Flo is just a tad bit shorter late and that is why I would put my money on Newfie to score at the wire. Both better keep an eye in the rear-view mirror as multi-stakes finalist Boc’s Queen Lady is in her best box and will be coming on strong to challenge. Vicki Of Ruckus is no slouch either and looks to continue her 6 race in the money streak in this effort. (8-3-1-2)

Race 9 – Back at the right distance, Craigie Javier will make the most of the post and dominate once again over the added distance. (Remember he won all 4 rounds of qualifying of the 2018 Orange Park Derby and finished a close 3rd in the finals.) Late closing Pat C Bona should be right there aw well, and the fantastically posted Mrl Pay Back could be a threat too. Easy Turner seems to have found his form and couple turn the corner here with 3 wins in a row if he gets clear early on. (2-5-7-4)

Race 11 – Stakes winner, and other finalists, that is how this race sums up. I know it is going to be tough to score here with the inside part of the racetrack right where they want to be, but Ww Whatsapp did the impossible in the finals and has won a race since. Here no speed around, out and gone early to the lead and yet another win. Pushing the pace early will be the early speeder, and fellow finalist Speedo Tuxedo, and the other as fast as I want to be runner L’s Sum Dog, who absolutely loved the rail posts. Dutch Mustang will get early attention, but late will be no match for the rest as they head to the finish line. (6-2-1-3)

Race 15 – Over to the extra, extra, long distance tonight with our TB marathon race, and let’s go with Jesse Owens. This greyhound was made to run this distance and always shows up over the 770-yard course. He won his last outing and finished 2nd in the one before that. Others may to the lead, but he will come out on top at the wire. Drama Free looks to run the same race again. She will be the early leader here and come up short at the wire for the second time, as she has in back to back races over 770. Marathon veterans Pj Wigglengiggle and Adh Freda Dee should make up ground throughout and factor in the spots under on your tickets in this effort. (7-6-2-8)

Sunday matinee March 18th, 2018

Race 7 – Speed is the key to success in this effort and several greyhounds could see the front end and try and win this race. Charlie Fast lives up to the name from the starting box and has not missed the quiniela in 5 straight trips. Winning 3 times, he can get it done on the front end, but it won’t be easy here. Early speed stakes runners For The Birds and Pat C Hash Tag both can get after it from the start as well and could go box to wire and steal the win today. All the speed better not forget about the closers late as Cal Smith could circle them all and take home the W if he can get in the conversation at the start of this effort. (6-5-2-4)

Race 11 – Checking all the boxes, Boc’s Andross must be the one to beat in this effort. Winning 3 straight, and back to back races from the same red box she has today, she should be unabated to the early lead and hold tough all the way to the wire for the win. She will be pressed early from the likes of Midnight Loot and Scottish Rogue, both of whom could wire this field and win themselves if they steal enough early on, and late everyone better watch-out for the resurging closer Dutch Dalton at the wire.
