Talk about screaming at the top of your lungs? Pure Puppy Ww’s War Cry is making up for lost time and taking to the grade A fields here at bestbet Jacksonville. Breaking in back in October, War cry looked like a promising pup. Closing well in her first couple of M races, finishing in the money, but then the light bulb went on. Outfinishing everyone for a strong maiden win in 30.97 and then she backed that up with a D romp on the front end in by 7 in 30.63 seconds. In her next effort, her promising career came to a screeching halt. Falling in the race, she DNF, and took some time off to rest and refocus on racing. Coming back in February, she was average at best in her schooling race finishing 4th, but that was where the average part stopped.
When the lights came back on, so did War Cry. Outrushing the rest to the lead, she easily won her C race by 7 in a speedy 30.52 seconds. Next up was grade B, and yet another win, then on to grade A for the first time and another win, but the next race would be her statement effort. Breaking slowly, but outrushing everyone to the turn. She exploded away from the field up the backside and rocketed up the stretch to win by almost 11 lengths as she stopped the clock at an eye popping 30.18 seconds. WOW! After a 3rd in her next traffic riddled effort, she did it again!
Another outside post, another slow break, another outrun everyone to the turn and run away from the field and hide. Proving that she was not just a one trick pony, Ww’s War Cry finished 9 lengths better than her nearest competitor and stopped the clock again in near record time, 30.19 seconds.
Big thing lurk ahead for this youngster as she is not even 2 years old yet. So far she has won 7 of her 12 races and finished in the trifecta in 11 of those 12 starts. Her only race out of the top 3 finishes, was in the race she fell. She is by no means short at the end of the race and she is started to figure out how to break and rush early too. This dual threat will have a huge future ahead of her. Enjoy her while you can, as I see this one moving on to greener pastures in the near future.
Good luck, and let me here your WAR CRY!
