Round one is in the books and we head on to number two here in the 2015 bestbet Juvenile. The points were shared equally in round 1 as eight different kennels won a round of the stakes. Tonight the points are going to get spread out even more as the draw was not kind to the winners. Random, is all you need to say as some races have as many as four first round winners and several races have no winners from round one. Someone has to win, so that points after round two are going to be very, very interesting. Let’s take a look at the races in round two and see if we can’t get you cashing some tickets on a Monday evening.
Round 2 of the bestbet Juvenile
Monday evening –
Race 2 – Wide open race here with only one grade A greyhound, so we go with him Easi Darrell just missed from the 1 box in round one and should be the favorite here again in round #2. He has a good inside post and enough late to get the job done. He will be pressed though by talented young, young, pup C Ville Chiller who always seems to be around the money, along with another runner-up in round 1 and another strong trying greyhound Ww’s Cherry Kiss. Also look out for Bonafide Leader. The post could be a difference maker for her. Last time in red, she scored a big time win. (3-8-4-1)
Race 3 – Tough match up here as we get not one, not two, but three first round winners locking up. Post might be the difference maker for them, and Lk’s Picketwire gets the best spot of the three to start from. He has won 5 of his first 9 trips and has not missed the money once in his career. This greyhound is the real deal and will edge out the rest to stay undefeated. Pressuring the leader will be the greyhound with the quickest trip last time out, Mac’s Melanie. Here she needs to break to contend. Ww Char Fontane also won in round 1 and has enough late speed to make the others worry in the stretch again tonight, and don’t sleep on Gs Vanity neither. A better post might make her a threat in this effort. (1-7-5-2)
Race 4 – Two grade A’s here and two greyhounds to challenge for the win. Pulllanallnighter was run down late and settled for place in round 1, and the same thing could happen again in this race. I think that she makes the lead again here, no big early speeders here, and with a great post she can a chance to wire the field. That is if she can hold off Ln Houdini late to get the job done. Houdini was flying up late and settled for third, but with a better post and more time to close, he might just get the job done at the finish line this time around. The others to worry about include the a fellow runner-up in round 1, and hard trying greyhound Gs Viola, and the former grade A late speed running threat Dutch Waldo. (2-1-7-4)
Race 5 – The class trend continues on in the stakes as two more greyhounds stand out here and both are grade A’s. Easi Kelly looks to rebound after a disappointing effort in round 1, but Ww’s Cecilia is not going to make it easy for him to get the W. Posted right next to one other, this top class duo will be battling it out late to see just who is better on this occasion. Both better be wary of some other closers in the field as well. Mx Midnite Jazz can come from well off the back and challenge and the rail post makes her even more dangerous, and speaking of closers, Gs Vern gets a great red blanket, a trip back to 550, and another chance to impress tonight. If he can get out close at all, it will be in the mix a the finish line. (4-5-3-1)
Race 7 – Chalk time here as Super C Britni looks to be the cream of the crop in this effort. She breezed to an easy win in round 1 and the rest of the field is just not up to her caliber. This is the LOCK of the day. Only two other greyhounds finished in the money in round 1 and both ran 3rd by a bunch of lengths. Look for her to ROMP this field. The true race will be for place and that goes to Easi Dallas. This late closer will have to make due from the outside is he wants to win next best. Pushing him will be the stalking threat Saber Rat and the early challenging Rd Fergie from the rail. (5-8-7-1)
Race 9 – Three grade A’s in this race and a chance to win for each of them. No first round winners here, in fact only a 3rd and a fourth place effort, so wide open has to be the call of the day. Sheezsohot might be new, but she has been impressive so far. With 10 of 12 in the trifecta, she can hang with the best of them and has flashed some great raw speed in the past. She can win with or without the early lead and the later comes into play tonight. Easi Fabulous has won in B and was a early threat in round 1. He is short late though and it could cost him again here. Pat C Andre is a former grade A that needs to find his mojo again, and don’t overlook Flying Megavolt. He can run from out here and if he gets around close, he could be upset minded tonight. (4-3-6-7)
Race 11 – The toughest race on the card here as we see 4 first round winner’s going head to head for yet another W in the bestbet Juvenile. Anyway you look at it, this is going be a heated battle, but I have to pick someone to win, so Arkaska Lotus is the one! This greyhound is a strong grade A that has won 3 of her last 4 races and hasn’t missed the trifecta in 6 straight. Always around, she can win without the lead too, and that makes her double dangerous. Here she might have to come from off the back to get things done as the super speedy breakers, and first round winners Kc’s Todd and Ww’s Sammy lurk on the outside of the racetrack. All better not look past Super C Aria in this effort either. She has found her groove again at the right time and finally gets a coveted rail post once again. If she gets loose, she could steal a W. (3-1-6-8)
Race 12 – Capping off the evening with another easy W in my opinion. B Morton’s Fury ran a strong race in round 1 for place and is the only grade A greyhound in this field. He has the class edge over the rest and the midtrack post will suit him well in this effort. He will have to probably from off the pace to get it done here, as the early lead should be saved for the quick breaking Pat C Shy Look, but it won’t be an issue. others to consider are the quick closing threat Trackinfo Dutch, and the I’m tough if I’m close runner Shesonhergame. (4-8-6-2)
The third round of the stakes will run on Friday November 27th at bestbet Jacksonville. The field will be trimmed down and only the best of the best will move on to the quarter-finals.
