The first round gets underway this Friday evening, October 23rd, so let’s look at the eight races on the card and see if we can’t get you cashing some tickets here at bestbet Jacksonville.
Friday Evening – First Round of bestbet Sprint Classic
Race 5 – Ship in Mrl Call Da Popo has taken well to the surface at bestbet Jacksonville and has only missed the money once in his last 6 races. He has enough early to see the lead and the great post position will only aide in this effort. Look for a sharp start and a dominate trip tonight. Pressing the leader late will be the cyclonic finisher O Ya Tornado, and the well posted Kc’s Johnny Cash will be prompting the pace throughout. Don’t sleep on the resurging Gm’s Lil Sophia. She is back on her game and could find a way into the mix in this effort. (6-3-2-7)
Race 7 – No better speed on the planet than Pat C Gatsby and he is going to need all the lengths he can muster up early in this effort if he wants to hold on for the win. Forget the last effort, missed his break, but tonight against these, no one bested him to the front. Sure he will be pressed early and late, but he holds on for the W. The best threat to beat him will be the well posted closer Eds Budby Blaze on the outside, but the inside greyhounds will be around too. Solid grade A Flying Chandler and the rising star Braska Runcie both have a chance to pull off the upset. (4-7-3-1)
Race 9 – Good match up here between some top winning grade A greyhounds. Amigos Salsa hasn’t missed the cash in 6 straight and has won 2 of her last 3 efforts, and Puppy Stakes Winner Pat C More Ever has 3 wins showing in her last 6 trips in grade A. Both greyhounds should come out well in this effort, but it could be a battle royal for the lead tonight. By Gold Radar loves the rail, gets a great post, and has enough early to challenge, and watch out for the rested and ready pup Centeno too. If they all decided to hit the lid, this race could be an instant classic. (3-6-2-7)
Race 10 – Tough picking in this race. Several greyhounds have a good shot at the win, but only one can, so let’s go with the class, speed, and red hotness of Fiesta Beowolf. This solid grade A has been the favorite to win his last 6 races in a row, so who am I to argue with that? Winning 3 of those trips and posting up right in his sweet zone, he will find a way to eeck out the competition late in this effort. Early he will probably be chasing the ankle burner Gs Maleki to the turn. He too has the skills to wire this field on the lead, like he has done in 2 of his last 6 starts, but more likely he will set the pace and surrender late. Others to watch out for include the super pup, or Super C pup, Super C Aria, who has won 4 of her 7 lifetime starts, and the now back in grade A closing threat Kiowa Jump Jude. (3-6-7-5)
Race 11 – Time to pull the veteran card and C Ville Wynter is her name. This little gal always steps up in the stakes rounds, and hot off a win from a similar post, I expect a big effort again tonight. With early and late speed, she is a double threat and take home the W again tonight. Post is the only thing that might stand in the way of Gs Brody in this effort. He is easily the best early speed greyhound and should see the front end here, that is if he can get to the rail untouched. He is short late though and it could cost him again here. Late everyone has to watch out for the big time closers. The solid A upstart Windy Gabby will surely be making her run for the roses in the stretch, and you can never forget about the big question mark Macktheknife. If he wants to break and run, the race will be for place, but if he doesn’t, he comes up late in the money again here. (4-8-3-5)
Race 12 – The FAT LADY has to wake up sometime and tonight is the night! All-American Lee Opera has not broke well in a mighty long time, and I don’t think she will get the lead in this race anyways, but somehow, someway, she will find a way to win tonight. Setting the pace and proving the one to catch early on will be Cj’s Sadie. Easily the fastest from the box, she has led to the far turn in 5 straight trips, the problem is that she is short, short, short late. Look for another in the money cash, winning is just too tough against this field. Also trying to make their mark will be the veteran gunslinger, O Ya Gunsmoke. Only problem for him, the 1 box. He likes it wide and will have his work cut out for him here. Mrl Cryin Shame has skills too, with 2 wins in 6 starts in A, but like Gunsmoke, the post is the problem in this effort. (2-4-1-5)
Race 13 – The hot hand goes on display again in this effort as Lee Polly looks to take the cracker for the 5th time in her last 7 starts. This closer has been breaking well and it has been a turning point for her in winning. She likes it midtrack and will have to stay clear of trouble to get another big time win in round 1. Pushing the leader in the stretch will be the always closing Cp’s Tavern. Winning, not an option for him, but in the money mix, count on it. 6 straight baby! Others to consider in this effort include the fantastic pup, out of All-American Gs Uncle Henry, Hs Viola, trust me she is better than her lines show, and her next door neighbor Par Super Dee, who has flashed some tough efforts himself in his last 6 starts. (6-4-8-7)
Race 15 – Talk about everything going in one greyhounds favor, well it is in this effort in round 1. Cj’s Colin ticks all of the boxes in this race. He gets a great post position here in the 1 box, he has the best early speed of the bunch and will be unabated to the early lead, and he is the hottest thing going at the racetrack with 3 wins in a row and 5 in his last 6 starts. Can you say box to wire for the 4th straight time? I THINK YOU CAN! Pushing the early pace should be fellow solid grade A, and recent winner of 3 in a row, Gs Flipper. The only think holding her back might be the tough 5 box. Others you need to keep an EYE out for include the steady chasing grade A Ww Black Shadow, and the early rush hold on in the money threat Pat C Eye Opener. (1-5-3-2)
All greyhounds will return for round 2 on Monday evening October 26th at bestbet Jacksonville.
