I don’t know if there has ever been a more dominating performance, from start to finish, in a stakes race than the one that Ww’s Pour It On put up in the 2013 Jacksonville Juvenile here at bestbet Orange Park.
Not only did he win round, after round, after round, after round, to head into the finals as the only undefeated qualifier, he backed that up with yet another strong performance in the finals.
Capturing his fifth straight win, and the championship, Ww’s Pour It On gave the Jacksonville Juvenile title to Red Oak Racing and Owner Julia Ward for the second consecutive year.
Breaking from the tough five box, Ww’s Pour It On came out slowly, but kicked it into gear as a crowd rushed to the first turn. By the start of the turn Pat C Gift Ww was leading the pack, all eight greyhounds were within a couple of length, but that is where the outcome of this race was going to change. Several greyhounds encountered trouble as Pat C Gift Ww took full control heading around the turn. Chasing closely were the greyhounds that skirted the major collisions and slipped by on the rail or outside of the trouble. Down the backside then went with Pat C Gift Ww holding a slim lead over the midtrack chasing Ww’s Pour It On, the rail running Ww’s Just Enough, and Atascocita Doris was a distant fourth. By the far turn the early lengths had all but disappeared, and the stalkers were making their move to seize command of the race. Pat C Gift Ww dug in deep, and as they turned for home, he gave it everything that he had left. Ww’s Pour It On and Ww’s Just Enough were not going to concede the win that easily though as this talented Julia Ward duo reached back for more, found another gear, and battled for the wire. Heads apart as they were making their final strides, Ww’s Pour It On proved too much for the rest as he separated himself from the crowd and took home the title at the finish line. He was a length and a half better than the rest and stopped the clock in a speedy 30.69 second. Place had to be decided by a photo finish as the pacesetter Pat C Gift Ww had to settle for show as Ww’s Just Enough edged him out by a nose at the wire. Completing the field was Ww’s Chick A Dee, who closed hard to take fourth after double trouble in the first turn. Atascocita Doris finished fifth after chasing the leaders early and weakening in the stretch. Sixth went to Ww’s Zinc, who was bounced around hard in the first turn. Seventh was the race favorite Pat C Gatsby, who was bumped wide at the first turn and never rallied, and last was Gs April.

Congratulations head out to Red Oak Racing, Owner Julia Ward, Trainer Jennifer Richardson, and everyone else connected with not only the winner, Ww’s Pour It On, but the greyhounds that finished second, Ww’s Just Enough, and fourth, Ww’s Chick A Dee. All of them are owned by Julia Ward and all of them run for Red Oak Racing.
Nearly sweeping the superfecta, Red Oak’s greyhounds should have big expectations on them in the future, but none more so than Ww’s Pour It On who has won five races in a row, and seven of his last eight starts. The sky is the limit for this talented greyhound, and here’s to good luck in all of your future races.
