Round 3 of Jax Juvenile Friday Evening

Racing News

The fields might have gotten smaller, but the action is getting bigger here in the third round of the 2013 Jacksonville Juvenile.

Two greyhounds remain undefeated, Pat C Gatsby and Ww’s Pour It On, with several others winning at least one of the two rounds of action. The race for the semi-finals is on and just a win separates 21 of the final 32 competitors.

Let’s take a closer look at the remaining fields and try and give you a inside track at cashing some tickets.

Friday EVENING –

Race 5: Gs Daisy May came alive in round 2 and bolted from the started box and took home the win. Here she is post up well again and find herself in with no big early speeders. This closer should flourish once again from just off the early pace. Look for a determined winning trip. Trying to take her down will be the first round winner Ww’s Vibrant, the ideally posted always trying threat Pat C Gift Ww, and the steady closing newcomer Ww’s Zinc. (4-6-1-3)

Race 7: The speed vs. the closers should be title of this race as Ww’s Who Am I looks to steal off a lead big enough to survive at the finish line for the win. Last time out she gave a valiant effort, but was denied at the wire and had to settle for place, but here she draws the post that saw her win her last race 6 trips ago in a speedy clocking. Box to wire? Maybe, but she is going to have to be wary of the closers including the stalking second round winner Pat C Buckaroo, and coming off the tailgate challenger Gs April, and the you never know quite what you are going to get runner Ww’s Chick A Dee. (7-6-3-5)

Race 10: Battle royal time in this one as back to back winner Ww’s Pour It On looks to keep a clean sheet against the ankle burning efforts of the perfect quiniela threat that is Atascocita Doris. Easily Doris is going to have the early lead in this race and will control the front end for the majority of this effort. Late she will be short, but will she get far enough away to hold on? That is the real question. So far she has accomplished it once, and failed once. Here I think she fails again as Pour It On does just that in the stretch and steals away a victory from the jaws of defeat. Others to watch out for include a duo of first round winners in Ww Ringlet and Bostonstrongiris. (7-6-3-5)

Race 11: The other undefeated greyhound comes your way here, as Pat C Gatsby looks to dominate yet another race on the front end. Tonight with the empty space next door Gatsby gets room early and makes the most of it. Easily to the front end, he should control this race throughout and find a way to score once again. It will not be a cakewalk though as Ww’s Just Enough is a solid competitor in his own right. He has a win and a place in two rounds of the stakes and has not missed the quiniela in 5 straight in grade A. Look for this to be a heated battle from box to wire. Others trying to get into the mix will be the steady gaining Gs Not Cracker from a great post position, and Tomco Padfoot who is coming off a huge effort and finally gets back inside of the 3 box. (5-6-2-1)

The semi-finals of the 2013 Jacksonville Juvenile will run on Monday December 2nd at bestbet Orange Park. The field will be chopped down to 3 races and the top eight will move on to the finals on Saturday evening December 7th in conjunction with our second chance drawings. See you at the races!
