This weekend at bestbet Orange Park we have a little bit of everything for our wagering public. Loads of talent will be on tap around the racetrack, and don’t forget we have Trivia on Friday and 2nd chance drawings on Saturday evening, with drink and food specials on both cards.
Upstart Ww’s Chick A Dee will be on tap, along with 68 race winner Kiowa Jill Vik. Orange Park Derby winner Snj Black Porter is back in form and taking on crowd favorite Ww’s Sweetie, and a tough TA Marathon race will cap off the night on Saturday in race 15!
Now let’s check out all the top grade events for this weekend at bestbet Orange Park!
Friday Evening –
Beam me up Scotty in race 7 as Warped looks to put up back to back wins from a great starting box. She loves the rail and should outbreak everything inside to get the job done. Cagey veteran, and 68 race winner, Kiowa Jill Vik will be pressing the pace throughout for sure, along with the impressive puppy from the dynamic Duo of Red Oak Racing and Julia Ward Daddy’s Candle, who has won 3 of her last 6 starts. Check out the shoes as well, because Mr. Quiggly is back after a rest and should contend late from this outside post position. (2-6-4-7)
Speed is the key to success in race 10, but can Atascocita Hoot steal enough early on to hold at the wire for her 3rd straight victory? YEP! Sure she will be pressed early and often from ship in Flying Delvin, who also won in her last start, but both greyhounds on the front end better keep an eye in the rearview mirror in the stretch for the closing Ww’s Irish Moss. The clover might just upset them if she gets around in the conversation early on. T’s Hi Jacker could also factor again as he has only missed the money once in his last 6 starts. (2-3-8-4)
Post position will help Gs Tex wrangle up the rest before the finish line in the 11th race on the card. Tex loves wearing red and can come on late like a Mack truck when he gets room to go. Tonight he finds the passing gears and gets it done. Setting the pace, and factoring to the last few steps, will be the returning early speeder Easi Butterball, and the inside trend should continue as Barts Investor is a solid grade A with 4 starts in a row in the money. Ww Ignite could stoke the fire as well, hot off a win and in the same post, she might just want to double dip in this effort. (1-3-2-7)
Over to 660 for the nightcap in the 15th race, and this one could be a race for the ages. Orange Park Derby, and puppy stakes, winner Snj Black Porter is back in tip top form with 2 straight wins, but he has to deal with the other monster of the route Ww’s Sweetie. Both like to break and neither are short over 660, so this could be a heated battle from start to finish. Also lurking is the fastest of the bunch Gs Cosmo. Posted well inside, he looked to get back on track after his last trip and could upset the favorites in the process. Don’t overlook the ideally posted Cayenne Madonna in this effort either. She can break with them early and hold tough, and could be the longshot pick you are looking for in back to back races. (7-5-1-3)
Saturday Matinee & Evening –
On Saturday matinee in the 11th race the finish line is going to be quite crowded. Loads of closers coming late, and almost any of them could get it done at the finish line. Post aides one of them better as Jessica Pearson won her last effort in grade A from the 1 box. She too will have to come to run early as Penrose Dude will for sure be firing out of the starting box. Gs Jersey might be the one to beat late as she won her last effort in grade a from behind, but don’t miss on Masterkova either. She too won last time out and has gears to burn in the deep stretch. (1-4-2-6)
One of the most impressive greyhounds running right now takes on the rest in the 15th race in the matinee. Time For Tootsie has been burning up the racetrack, not only with wins, but with blazing fast times. With 6 straight quinielas, including 4 wins, she clocked at 30.31 and a 30.28 in the process. Posted well here, expect more of the same. Trying to ruin her day will be the early burner Gs Kristen, who will try to hold on at the wire and upset, the big closer Ww’s Dust Me Off from way off the pace, and the posted up solid grade A Mega Edile. (3-7-8-1)
On to Saturday evening and the highly contested 7th race on the card. Normally I would pick something different in this effort, but sometimes you have to go with your gut and what should come to pass early. Here Rock And Roll looks like the pick. Empty box next door and J’s Moonshine in the 4 box will dive to the rail and cause havoc inside. Too much room not to get close and dominate late here. Ww’s Musician should be able to outbreak the trouble and set the pace throughout, and the always closing Decadent can overcome early trouble will all of that late speed. Rotation might not be in the best spot here, but you have to love the resurgence and the back to back impressive box to wire wins. (5-1-3-2)
Puppy power time in the 11th race in the evening card as phenom Ww’s Chick A Dee looks to start off a new win streak. Last time out she found double trouble and it stopped her undefeated run, but tonight she gets right back on the horse and gets things done. With or without the early lead, she finds a way to prove best late. This won’t be easy though as veteran grade A and stakes round winner Gs Jock is lurking in a favorable inside post, along with early speed machine, and pacesetter, Pat C Spoilsport, and solid grade A cyclonic finisher Rainie Rose. (6-2-8-5)
Now for the race of the weekend as we venture over the added, added distance course in the 15th with a special marathon effort. Getting the Sundae done once again, Bl’s Cherryontop was made to run this distance. She was ultra impressive in her 1st 770 race and she should continue that trend in this effort, but she will have to be worried about not only the veterans of the route, but a couple of newcomers too. Readymade effort could come right next door from Rain City Flyer. Perfectly posted, Flyer looks like she should be a natural over the 770 distance and might just do what Cherry did in her last effort, win her debut. Both will probably have to catch the fast breaking Ty Kay James if they want to get it done, and you never know when the luck is going to turn on, so keep your peepers on the 2, Lucky Betty, here too. If the mood suits her, the race might be for place tonight. (7-8-4-2)
Sunday Matinee –
A couple more grade A events will be on tap and the first comes our way in the 7th race on the card. Here Mega Nitrogen and Daniel Hardman should be duking it out with every step they take around the racetrack. Both have the early speed needed to get the lead and each and proved tough on top in the past, but watch out for the newcomer. Mrl Kaboom is a AA from Tri-State that is looking to invade here at bestbet Orange Park. Big upside and the more trips around the oval, the more dangerous she will become. Sneaking around outside is Ww’s Burn and even though winning might be a stretch, you have to have him somewhere on your ticket. Why? How about 8 straight trips in the money? Questions? (1-5-8-4)
Completing the weekend we head to the 11th race and the veteran Kiowa Mat Marty. Marty is always around the early lead and in the matinees he is extra tough to keep off the ticket and out of the winner’s circle. Posted well inside here, he will outrush everyone to the lead and steal enough early to hold on. On a tear late speed runner Mac’s Digitaldog will be looking to repeat the effort that he gave in his last race. There he came flying late and won in grade A to extend his trifecta streak to 6 straight races. Another streaking runner and closer could also be in the mix as Shootin Outlites is firing on all cylinders right now, and Ww’s Greer might have something to say about this race too before it’s all over. Now back in grade A, if she is close early, she will be a factor at the finish. (3-5-4-7)
