Another great weekend of action is upon us here at bestbet Orange Park with top quality races over all 3 distances. That’s right, we have something for everyone as we feature 550, 660, and even a 770 race, this weekend at bestbet Orange Park.
Loads of talent will be on tap too as the new Sugarberry Kennel gets started and will have more great greyhounds joining our circuit in the next couple of weeks. Good luck to our newest addition and expect big things from them in the future.
Don’t forget Friday evening is TRACKSIDE TRIVIA TIME, with drink specials, at bestbet Orange Park from 7-8 pm where we will be giving away vouchers to win, place, and show in the contest.
On Saturday evening more fun with food and drink specials and our popular 2nd chance drawings. Not only can you turn your losing tickets into $$CASH$$, we also have a little swag for the winner’s too.
As always we will do our best here to showcase the races for the weekend and try and help you out with some, hopefully, winning selections. So here we go.
Friday Evening –
Hard to pick against Gs Tex in the 7th race on the card as he has not missed the money in 17 straight starts. This closer even won last time out! Riding high, he repeats late. The only breaker in the field gets some love too. Ww’s Unk will be the one to catch on the lead & could upset with some help. Inside Mega Shaped and Cayenne Blizzard both will challenge too if they are in the conversation early on. (6-8-2-1)
Over to 770 for race 9, and even though it might not be a grade A race, it’s still a 770! YEAH! Here you have to go the MO’s direction as Aragorn and Strider were both made to run this distance. These brothers love to go the added, added route and both have won a couple of races over here. Expect them to show off in the stretch and steal away the win. Setting the pace will be Rs Cashin In who will factor throughout but come up just short and don’t forget the former grade A, Gs Kadence. (4-1-3-7)
More grade A’s in race 10, which is the first half of the forced out twin-trifecta, and this will be a race you don’t want to miss. Loads of speed up front as this turns into a three way battle royal for the lead and the win. Gs Kristin has won 3 of 5 races, including her last, and should have an edge, but posted up solid grade A Cayenne Hail will be in the mix with every step she takes. Mega Nitrogen looks to cool off the leaders if he can get to the lead, and hitting all the right notes at the right time, Rock And Roll has found his groove as of late and should be threatening too. (1-7-8-6)
Race 11 is wide open and will be one that goes to whoever wants it the most. Fth Thunder is out of a pair of Orange Park Stakes Winners and is finally showing just what he can do around the racetrack. Running hot now, he could be the one to beat. Mega Chungo loves the new surroundings and has gears late that will help him challenge at the wire. Whittington is a strong breaker that is extra tough to catch on the lead. Once in front he could wire the field, and My Present always gets overlooked, but from the 1 box, you have to consider him a sleeper in this effort. (4-3-5-1)
Over to 660 for the 15th race and you can’t ignore the last efforts of several greyhounds in this race. Gavotte blistered the oval with a 9 length win in 37.28 seconds last time out and that is good enough for me to give her the win again here. She was not alone though as Slick got off the snide too with a 6 length romp of his own against a B field. Psychedelic righted the ship as well albeit by a smaller margin, and you can never could out the breaking, rushing, and determination of Caitlyns Dream. (7-8-5-3)
Saturday Matinee & Evening –
Heavyweights duke it out in the 7th race in the matinee as Kiowa Mat Marty and Ww Sparks Flying both will be vying for the lead and the win in this effort. Boxed right next to each other at the start, watch the middle of the racetrack to see if Marty takes Sparks to the Mat early and holds on, or if the Sparks will be Flying in the stretch for her to secure the win. Both has to be wary of the post up solid grade A ship in Kay Outlaw, and the always trying effort of Ww’s Hip Hop. (4-5-1-8)
Everything is going for Ww Head First in the 11th race on the matinee card as she has won 3 of her last 5 starts and gets the best box at the racetrack. Breaking well, she will be too close too early not to take home the win in this effort. Trying to derail her efforts will be a trio of super greyhounds that has loads of grade A experience and wins at their disposable. Ty Kay Willing is coming off a big win and is poised to make some noise, Gs Jock might have forgotten more than most of these others know about winning, and Mr. Quiggly might not win a lot, but he will close late and find a way into the mix again today. (1-4-5-8)
Race 7 on the evening card is another one that could be taken by anyone if the mood suits them. You have to like the chances of the red hot climbing Mega Edile who has won 3 of 6 and been in the money 5 times. He must break well to win, but can still be caught late. Amf Downsideleft is a posted up strong closer that will contend late and has the confidence to get it done after winning 2 of 3, including his last race by 5 lengths. Solid grade A Ww’s Greer will be forcing the pace for sure again here, and Ww Ignite could upset them all if she is stoked early on in this effort. (6-2-7-5)
Streaking from the starting box, it’s going to be tough to keep Gs Natalie out of the winner’s circle in the 11th race. Flying high on a 3 race box to wire win streak, Natalie is in an ideal post and will make the most of the front end again. Streak continues here! Trying to pressure her throughout will be the solid grade A Ww’s Dust Me Off from a tough 5 box, the back in grade A off a win last time out Crazybrittany, and the Sugarberry Southland ship in Tc Parker. (8-5-4-3)
Capping off the evening in the 15th race, we head back over to 660 yards and gets a doozy to watch for sure. Ww’s Sweetie is as fast as she wants to be and when she gets out of the box well, she is as good as anyone at the racetrack. Here the outside post gets her around the turn and she takes care of the rest. Newcomer Pawsox Delgado has taken the racetrack by storm over 660 and looks for another strong effort in this race. Once again he will be chasing early, but this time out, he might just get back to winning. Mega Quandary beat them both last time out and is looking to repeat that effort and forget the last one by Dutch Cami and notice the 4 straight in the money over this distance that proceeded them. (7-4-3-8)
Sunday Matinee –
After a rough trip in the finals of the puppy stakes, Ww’s Ignite Fire is getting back to her winning ways at bestbet Orange Park. Granted the 6 box is not the best to break from, but class prevails when it is this superior. Watch her do whatever she needs to do to get a win in this effort today. Her biggest challenge comes from the posted up rising star My Baby Belle. Belle is good with or without the lead and will be stoking the leader throughout in this effort. If she clears on top early, she could be upset minded in this effort. Mega Bacilo must also be considered, and even though she hasn’t won in a while, she will close late and be a factor at the finish. Black Oak Smash is the big question mark in this effort. Smash is a monster on the front end and needs to get there early to have any chance to win this effort. If she can steal a lead and gets some help behind, she too has an outside shot at the victory. (6-1-5-3)
Look for a Musical Masterpiece in the 11th race on the card as Ww’s Musician could not have written a better song for her to sing in this effort. Everything, and I mean everything, is going for her at the start of this race. She has the class edge, off the stakes rounds, she gets her best box on the rail, all decked out in red, and she is beaming with confidence after winning back to back efforts. Out and gone early on today! The race is for place! Hopefully making the leader break and work for the win will be kennelmate Ww’s Gypsy. Gypsy is no slouch herself and has enough late speed to run down Musician if she breaks well enough. If she does get out of the box, the rest will be feeling like tramps and thieves at the wire. Warped is a monster in her own right, but recently she has been missing her break and not putting up the numbers that she has in the past. Here all she has to do is break, and that could all change in a heartbeat. Ww Fastrak Dino is an early speed greyhound that needs to hit the lid in order to contend today. It’s all about the break, see 3 straight box to wire wins below, and if he does, everyone better just watch out. (1-7-4-6)
