WW’s Mile Stone Still Unbeaten

Heading into the Quarter-finals of the 2012 Jacksonville Juvenile there were 2 unbeaten greyhounds, but after round 3, we only have one greyhound still standing at perfection.

Ww’s Mile Stone took over the top spot as the greyhound to beat in this stakes race as he broke close, outrushed the rest to the lead, and held gamely throughout to take home his 3 win in the stakes and increase his current streak to 4 wins in a row. His determined style of running could pay off big time come the finals, but first he must try and keep the streak alive through the semis.

The big kennel winner in the quarters was the Willis Kennel as they won 2 of the 4 stakes races on the card. Gs Hilda and Gs Kristin both got it done, one was just a bit more impressive than the other.

Gs Hilda finally got around closer in the 9th race on the card and by the far turn she was already in command. Never letting off the gas, she cruised all the way home on the lead and posted up the quickest trip in the stakes rounds.

Gs Kristin absolutely hit the lid in the 10th races as she put up a four length cushion on the field by the first turn. She continued to coast to the far turn and in the stretch is when the heat was turned up. She was glad the lead was big early, as she needed each and every length to hold on at the wire for the upset.

The other winner on the card was Braska Char in race 5. Sneaky is a good way to describe this greyhound as this was her second straight win in the stakes, and no one is ready paying that much attention to her. She has to be considered a threat, especially since she can win with or without the early lead. In this effort she chasing the pace to the stretch and found another gear late to drive by for the slim win at the wire.

The field will be trimmed down even further for the semi-finals, on Monday evening December 3rd at bestbet Orange Park, as just 3 races of greyhounds will remain with a shot at the top 8 spots come Saturday evening.
