More great racing action is coming your way this weekend in conjunction with our biggest promotion of the year.
Get Back on Track with the greyhounds at bestbet at the Orange Park Kennel Club on Saturday evening and get free cash, prize drawings, and a free t-shirt if you are one of the first 1,000 patrons.
But it’s not all about the gifts either as we have a great card Saturday evening including a pair of marathon races, once of which is a grade A, and an A events over 550 and 660 yard as well.
So check out the spot plays, the giveaways, and the stellar races from Friday thru Sunday below.
We start off on Friday evening in the 7th, 9th, 11th, and 15th races on the card.
Race 7 sparks the old debate. Can the speed steal enough to hold off the closers and win? Here I say YES! M’s Free Mason is back breaking and winning at Orange Park and tonight he gets extra room from the empty box. Out and gone early, he outduels Chasers Wwk Time Bomb and Lk’s Spicy Hot and outlasts the streaking Gs Comet late. (5-1-3-6)
Over to 660 for race 9 where no LUCK will be needed for Lucky Betty. This greyhound was born to run this far, just look who her dad was, and she has been thriving with each start over the added distance. She might not be in the early lead, that is saved for the rail duo of Cayenne Madonna and Dizzy Daisy or Good N Fast, but in the stretch none of them will be able to match her desire to win. (6-2-1-7)
Post is the only thing to consider in race 11. Gs Grace is almost untouchable from the one box and draws it again in this race for the third time in her last four efforts. She posted up impressive wins in both of those previous trips, somehow I see a trend! Contending early should be the speedy Lk’s Tiara and the ship in Pat C Sayonara, and late everyone better be wary of Bd’s Romulus from the rail. (1-8-2-6)
Capping off the evening in race 15, It’s All-American Time. Gs Uncle Henry is really tough to beat in any race, but when he puts on the red blanket, forgetaboutit. He will come to run, outrush everyone to the early lead, and prove tough on top for his 78th career win! Making him work for it will be Solid A’s Ww Fancy Floyd and Kiowa Jill Smile, and don’t forget about the unbeaten newcomer Pat C April Oak. (1-3-5-4)
Double header day starts out in the matinee for Saturday and the 2nd, 4th, 8th, and 11th races.
Spot play warning in the 2nd race on the card and here you just have to go with your gut. Fan This Flame is an absolute monster from the rail post and finally gets back inside in this effort. She is down a grade too, so double the pleasure today. Forget the lines and get on board the train NOW! Putting up an early challenge will be Easi De Queen and Pdx Pepino, and hot off a win runner Chasmo’s Saffron could challenge at the wire. (2-6-3-4)
More examples of greyhounds you need to play in the 4th race. Lk’s Deliberate is down two grades and gets a great outside post position. Everything is going for her in this one, and despite their tries, no one beats her tonight. Next best should be the ship in Mac’s Digitaldog, followed by the closing Windy Brat and Jamie Duhlelap. (6-3-4-2)
Race 8 is an evenly matched up race where several greyhounds could step up and win. Looking to get over the hump is Ww Head Rush. Well overdue for a win, Head Rush will find a way to prove best late. Amazing Run is another strong closer that should be challenging at the wire to try and catch the best early speeder Gs Liam. Dropper Granite Game could also get into the mix late, if he want to run. (2-1-7-5)
Race 11 should be a barn burner of a good time as we have loads of speed and talent posted up all over the place. The best combination of both lies with Kiowa Fire Fly. Not only can he break, he can come on late and win too. Posted up well, it appears to be back to back wins. Pushing the pace early should be outside rivals Ww’s I Girl and Rck Nightingale, and if Warped gets looks from the rail post, she might be upset minded today. (2-8-1-6)
Saturday evening is up next. What a stellar card and don’t forget about the biggest promotion of the year! Loads of cash, prizes, and T-shirts for the first 1,000 people through the door.
Some greyhounds just like certain racetracks and it seems like Aljo Graceland, in the 7th race, is walking in Memphis right now! Breaking extremely well, He has won 3 of 4 and just missed in the other. He has another great rail post and should prove best again. Solid chaser Sabil Par Faye, back to back winner Ww’s Soul, and the always trying Pat C Hop Along should provide the leader with a challenge throughout. (2-8-6-7)
The first of two 770 races comes your way in the 9th on the card and the always closing Gs Clayton seems like the one to catch the early leader Amf Love Bounce before the finish line. The true sleeper is Dutch Sarah Liz. Her lines look terrible, but she has ran and won over this distance before. Don’t count out Closed Circuit either as the improved post might aide his efforts tonight. (7-5-8-2)
The BACK ON TRACK SPECIAL comes in the 11th race which is a TA 770 yard event. Tough to go against Gs Cosmo after the last couple of efforts he has put up. He has been unstoppable over 660 from off the pace and should continue that trend here. Pat C Abileena V also looks like she could take to the added, added, distance for fun. Clever Is Crazy has run this far before and experience could help her steal away the keys to the castle, but don’t over look Slick on the rail either. If he can steal enough early on, he might just be able to survive on the late lead for the upset. (5-4-7-1)
Over to 660 for the 15th and final race on the evening where the streaking Gs Kadence is looking to put up her 4th straight victory. She has won her last two races in a row in red and gets the 1 box again in this effort. She will have to work hard though if she wants to win as Stars Far Away has 3 wins in her last 4 starts, Lk’s Mystifier has 2 straight quinielas, and Gett It Going has 3 wins and 4 quinielas in her last 6 attempts. Heated early and often, whoever wants it most late, takes it. (1-8-4-3)
Sunday matinee is the final card on the weekend and we will feature the 7th, 9th, 11th, and 15th races.
Time to forget the past in the 7th race on the card. Pat C Jackhammer has been rocking hard since returning to live action, so we can forgive the hiccup he has last time out. Look for a better break and for him to clear on the lead in the stretch. Factoring for sure will be the absolutely posted up Lk’s All In and the Red Oak-Julia Ward duo of Ww Petty Cash and Ww’s Wine Cooler. (7-1-5-3)
Steve Sarras has brought in some good looking greyhound that have taken well to their new surrounds. Case in point in the 9th race as E’s Blingo looks to keep flashing the bling in the stretch and pick up yet another victory. He should follow the early speed of Mrl Outlaw Billy to the turn and in the stretch he should be too much to handle late. Kb’s Jayton will make the most of the post and challenge, and if Br’s Tsunami gets around close, the class of the field, will show just who the real man of this race is. (5-1-4-3)
Nothing more needs to be said about the 11th race than the most recent stakes winner is in the 1 box. Atascocita Rip ran a huge race last time out to steal away the win at the wire, and today he gets a fantastic spot. It’s back to back jack time! Gs Jock is riding high on a pair of wins too, but the midtrack post is not the rail and it could be his demise. Closer Braska Nymph will provide a late challenge, and newcomer John Bosley might be up to the task if he can get out of the box. (1-4-2-6)
It might be the matinee but we finish off the card over the 660 yard course here in the 15th race. Grade dropper Lk’s Crank R Up is back over 660 and looks ready to take on the challenge this time around. He has the speed to go the distance, he just needs to get out close and stay clear of trouble. Today he gets it done. Superb closer Magic Tempura will provide a late threat and veteran Tipsy Brutus W could steal the show if he decides to run. Everyone will have to Catch Tapstar Bender on the lead though if they want to win this effort. (8-1-3-5)
