The bestbet at the Orange Park Kennel Club celebrated the accomplishments of our 2011 All-American Gs Uncle Henry on Saturday evening August 11th.
Over 1,200 people came out to join in the celebration and the first 1,000 through the door took home a one of a kind All-American T-shirt.
All of the festivities started after the 7th race was run. First up was a video of his 2011 campaign, then we panned over to the new billboard on the infield, next came the spotlight treatment down the racetrack, and finally we presented owner Gary Willis will a plaque and poster commemorating Gs Uncle Henry’s great year.
Henry took a victory lap through the crowd, was met by hundreds of his adoring fans, and gave some love back for all of the extra attention.
Henry was the runner up in the 2011 JGR Puppy Stakes, he won the 2011 James J Patton Silver Cup, posted up victories in 15 of his last 16 races on the year, including a run of 11 straight, and he was third in the win lead for the country with 41 victories in just 9 months of racing.
Congrats head out again to breeder and owner, Gary and Sharon Willis, trainer Brady Willis, and everyone else connected with this fantastic greyhound.
Henry won’t turn 3 until the end of September and has already racked up 63 career victories on his way to the major plateau of 80.
Henry is ready to defend his crown an is entered into the James J Patton Silver Cup in the 11th race on tonight’s card.
