Results for Event #1 – $230 No Limit Hold’em Event – $50,000 Guaranteed
Thirty-four total hours of play, six hundred and eight other players, a 4 hour final table, and an hour long heads-up session was what it took for Jeremiah Pierce to be crowned the champion of the first event in the 2012 Jacksonville Summer Series.
Jeremiah is a regular player from Florence, South Carolina who comes down to enjoy what he calls “one of the nicest places to play poker” here at bestbet Jacksonville.
Jeremiah came into day 2 with 105,000 in chips, sitting not too far down the rung of the chip leaders. He took that stack all the way to a final table consisting of quite a few familiar faces to the Jacksonville poker scene. When all was said and done, the almost nine million chips in play found a home in front of Jeremiah and his AJ. The hour long heads up session between he and Jacksonville regular Robert Brickman was looking like a back and forth stalemate until Robert unexpectedly shoved all-in with Q-10 off suit. After a few moments of thought, Jeremiah called. The king high, rainbow flop didn’t do much for either player and the turn and river kept the AJ in charge.
This isn’t Jeremiah’s first win at the Jacksonville Series, he chopped last Spring’s bounty tournament, but that was nothing compared to the $13,000 he gets to haul back to South Carolina after playing in what Jeremiah called a “first class tournament. I couldn’t have enjoyed myself more.” He said, gripping his Summer Series trophy.
A nice payday for an excellent player, and a great way to kick off the Jacksonville Summer Series. Complete Results HERE.

Mike Bozeman is no stranger to the poker table, in fact he makes a living at it. Not as a player though, Mike’s a professional dealer from Deltona.
In Event #2 of the Jacksonville Summer Series, the $230 buy in No Limit Hold’em, Mike proved his abilities on the other side of the felt.
The field started with 108 players, and when just three were left, they decided to split the almost $15,000 remaining in the prize pool evenly, but an event #2 winner still had to be decided.
When the final card hit the table, only Mike was left standing, holding his AJ of hearts high over a Florida heavy final table. He had tournament regular Tamir Ilcafass’ QJ dominated, standing tall through a King high board all the way down the river.
In the end, David took home nearly $5,000 in cash, the Summer Series Event #2 trophy, and a hefty share of series player points. Complete Results HERE.

The $230 Limit Omaha High/Low tournament attracted 66 players and garnered over $13,000 in the prize pool. The final table was populated by a few of the Jacksonville bestbet’s regular Omaha players and Tamir Ilcaffas, who made his second final table appearance in a row.
When it got down to the final eight, a chop was made based on chip counts with Robert Sutliff taking home the top prize of $3,440. After play resumed to determine who’d collect the coveted player of the series points along with the trophy, it was Benjamin Carli of Alliance, Ohio who stood victorious.

What’s better than knocking another player out of a tournament and taking all of their chips? Getting paid $50 every time you do it! That’s exactly what was happening in Event #4 of the Jacksonville Summer Series, the $230 No Limit Hold’em W/ $50 bounties.
Joshua Thompson of Nenan, GA collected his fair share of bounties in not only his first ever Jacksonville Summer Series win, but his first ever visit to the bestbet Jacksonville.
A construction company owner, Joshua’s been playing for over 10 years, but hurricane evacuations brought he and his friends our way and we couldn’t be happier to have them.
After an intense heads-up, shootout with local player Michael Frierson, Joshua found himself all-in with KQ off suit against 22, a classic coin flip. A king on the flop put Joshua well in the lead and left Michael with only 2 outs which were nowhere to be found on the turn or the river.

Derek Bowers has made a strong statement in his bid towards ‘Player of the Series’ supremacy. Not only was the $230 No Limit Hold’em Event #5 his first win of the Jacksonville Summer Series, it was his also his second straight final table and his second top 3 finish.
It came after a grueling heads up session with April Davis who went into the final 2 with a severe short stack that she quickly built into a formidable threat to Derek’s hopes for victory. The final hand came on a K-K-2 flop with 2 diamonds. Derek held pocket 7’s and April had 9-5 of diamonds looking for a flush. Neither the turn nor the river could deliver it for her, sealing the win for Derek.

Results for Event #6- $340 No Limit Hold’em 3 Day Event
The final day of the bestbet Jacksonville Summer Series’ second massive multi-day event was dominated by Floridians and Georgians alike, but the trophy is going home with Tennessee native and professional poker player Larry James Jr.
This was Larry’s first ever visit to the Jacksonville bestbet, and he’ll be taking home a lot of good memories, and unforgettable experiences to remember us by. Did I forget to mention the $30,000 he pocketed for winning the whole thing? That’s not too shabby either.
When the players reached the final four, Larry had over five million chips sitting in front of him, over 50% of the total chips in play. A chop was decided when play was four-handed, splitting up the over $65,000 remaining in the prize pool by chip stacks.
After Hurricane Isaac washed up Larry’s plans for a tournament in Louisiana, he and his friends decided to give the first coasts finest poker room a shot. What he found was what Larry described as “one of the nicest rooms he’s seen”, and Larry’s seen a lot of rooms. The Mount Eagle native is a professional poker player who travels all over the country, looking for great tournaments. The one he found here at the Jacksonville bestbet more than met his expectations. Winning the whole thing and taking home the Event #6 trophy was a pleasant surprise too.

It was the first time this unique tournament has been held in the Jacksonville Tournament Series, and a good time was had by everyone who played. The man who had the best time however had to be Edward Mrockowski, who took home $2,004 dollars and the event #7 trophy.
The players were dropping fast and furious all around this professional player and Jacksonville bestbet final table regular, but Eddie was able to stay strong in pursuit of his first ever Summer Series final table win.

It’s been over 2 months since the 4th of July, but the fireworks are still going off at the Jacksonville bestbet. Especially at the final table of the Summer Series’ first $560 No Limit Hold’em event.
At a table loaded with locals and regulars, it was the bouncer from Greenville, SC who flexed his muscle the most and took home his first ever Jacksonville Summer Series trophy.
William Dias, a recreational player who came all the way from South Carolina to play in what he called “the best room in Florida”, definitely gets to go home with something to talk about, aside from his $8,303 payday that is. During a stressful three handed showdown with longtime bestbet regulars Alan Philips and Nancy Ricks who were both hungry for their first Summer Series win, William looked down to find every poker players dream… pocket Aces.
Al opened the betting early and William re-raised with his Aces. Nancy shoved from the small blind, Alan calls and now facing two all-in bets with the best hand in poker, William had no choice but to call. His aces held strong not only against Nancy’s 8-9 suited, but Alan’s pocket Kings. An explosive way to end a great tournament! Complete Results HERE.

Results for Event #9 – $340 Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better Event
Omaha was on tap in Event #9 of the Jacksonville bestbet Summer Series, but this time Pot Limit was the name of the game. A few lows were counterfeited, some pots were scooped and a lot more were split on the way to another outstanding final table. Tamir Ilcaffas made his third final table of the series and his second straight appearance at the Omaha final table, but in the end it was former electrician and professional poker player Ryan Gelsomino who was the star of the show.
Ryan plowed through a strong field of experienced Omaha players and powered through the day’s second, five hour long final table to claim not only his first Summer Series trophy of the year but $4,948 for his first place win.
Congrats to Ryan and we can’t wait for the next round of exciting Omaha action next fall!

Six handed play was the name of the game and the players couldn’t have enjoyed it more, especially regular tournament player Ken Raborn of Martinez, GA who took home over $5,000 dollars on his way to short-handed supremacy.
Ken has been playing poker for the last 7 years, and came down to enjoy the Jacksonville Summer Series with his friends from Georgia, and what he got was a nice trophy and an even nicer payday.
The last hand of the tournament was a shocker; not only did Ken have to beat a fellow Georgian in opponent Adam Foley to get to his trophy, but he had to crack Aces to do it. On the last hand of the event Ken looked down to find Q-2 of hearts, but Adam woke up with A-A. The flop came Q-J-2, quickly putting Ken in the lead, and he would hold it all the way through the river, making him Summer of 2012’s 6-max champ! Complete Results HERE.

It was a prize pool that wouldn’t be claimed easily. First off the players had to fight through a 12-hour session of deep stacks and long blind levels, and then when they got to the final table they were forced to duke it out with more than just a handful of experienced players; like Moses Clepper who made his 3rd final table appearance of the Summer Series.
When the dust settled though, it was Max H. Jones who stood with his head, and the trophy, held high.
After splitting the prize pool five ways, Max got not only a $4,000 payday, he got bragging rights for being the Summer series final $560 event winner, and the title of Event #13 champion, and you can’t put a price on that! Complete Results HERE.

Results for Event #14 – $230 No Limit Hold’em Event
The final table in particular was rather remarkable as well, with Alliance, Ohio boys Benjamin Carlie and Derek Bowers both making their 3rd and 4th final table appearances, respectively.
Along with William Davis and Event #8 runner-up Alan Phillips sitting at the felt, it was no easy task for Joe “The Cleaner” Jeannin to make his claim for the Event #14 trophy.
Joe’s a bestbet regular who’s been seen around both the cash table and the tournament scene for years is a local industrial cleaning company owner and avid poker player.
Joe ended up playing against Benjamin Carli who was seeking his second Summer Series win and third Jacksonville Series trophy, but Joe had plans of his own; keeping the Event #14 trophy in Jacksonville.
On the last hand of the event Joe looked down to find pocket Jacks, and Ben held K-2 of clubs. The flop came 10c-Jd-Qc, giving Joe middle set and Ben not only an open ended straight draw but also a flush draw. The turn was an ace of spades, hitting Ben hard and giving him a straight, but a second ace on the river ended Ben’s dreams of his second Summer Series win and put $3,612 in Joe’s pocket and alongside his first Summer Series trophy. Way to go Joe! Complete Results HERE.

Results for Event #15 – $340 No Limit Hold’em Event
Event #15 the $340 No Limit Hold’em wasn’t just Joe’s second win of the Summer, you may recognize Joe as the trophy winner of Event #14. Two wins in the series is nothing to scoff at, but back-to-back wins is almost unheard of. “This game is easy.” Joe said, as he held both of his bestbet Jacksonville Summer Series trophies high above his head.
The prior night Joe claimed victory with pocket Jacks, his winning hand on this night however was a far cry from that, 2-7 off suit. It’s not always the worst hand in poker. Russel Rucks of Fort Meyers, FL was sitting across from Joe with K-J and although his middle pair was good on the flop of A-K-7, the turn came a 2, putting Joe in the lead, and he held it all the way down the river to his second straight trophy.
We’d like to congratulate Joe on his milestone win, and we hope to see more exciting repeat victories from everyone in the future! Complete Results HERE.

Results for Event #16 – $340 No Limit Hold’em with $100 Bounties
Event #16 was a $340 No Limit Hold’em tournament with $100 bounties, and the bounty hunters were hitting the felt hard on Saturday. The last man standing in the 67 player field was longtime player and bestbet regular Rich Gilliland from right here in Jacksonville, FL.
The 12-hour tournament got to the final table rather quickly as players vied to snatch up the $100 chips, but the final table was a little bit more of a struggle to start. As play dwindled to 6-handed Rich began to accumulate chips and soon became a steamroller that could not be stopped, collecting even more stacks and bounties on his way to Event #16 domination.
He claimed a little over $5,000 in cash and gets to take home the coveted Event #16 trophy, which will look nice on the shelf back home. Excellent play, and an excellent win Rich! Complete Results HERE.

Results for Event #17 – $230 No Limit Hold’em with $50 Bounties
The 2012 bestbet Jacksonville Summer Series wouldn’t dream of going out with a whimper, so we made sure the players got plenty of bang for their buck! The final event of the series was a $230 no limit hold’em with $50 bounties, and it brought the summer to a close in style with Mary McWilliams of Trento, FL grabbing her first ever trophy win.
Mary’s no stranger to final table and cashes in big tournaments though, she’s put a quite a few under her belt in her 10 years at the felt. Mary’s a nurse by trade, who loves to play hold’em, but her talents aren’t just limited to the most popular poker game in the world, she’s also a talented 2-7 triple draw player.
Last night Mary showed her versatility by making it all the way to the final table and the top 3 spots without collecting a single bounty until she eliminated Russell Clayton in third place. Then she set her sights on the most important bounty of all, the one that comes with a first place trophy and over $4,000 in cash. Mary and local player Andrew Johnson had a fierce heads up session, when Mary flopped two pair while holding K-10. The flop was Kh-10h-Jc, giving Andrew who was holding 4-5 of hearts a flush draw. The turn and river however were both black delivering a lot of green to Mary and bragging rights of being the Event #17 champion.
